About this role
As a Tech Lead within the Canadian Analytics & Data organisation, you will act as the technical lead for one of our core stakeholder pillars. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality insights, leading the technical direction of our analytics solutions, and supporting the development of analysts.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, partner with Data Product to plan and deliver roadmap initiatives, and ensure that the team’s analytics outputs are robust, scalable, and impactful. This role blends advanced hands-on analytics with technical leadership and coaching responsibilities.
Location : Toronto or Winnipeg office
Work Arrangement : Hybrid- 3 days a week in-office & 2 days working from home
Reporting to : Associate Director - Data, BI & Analytics Generalists & Leadership
These are some of the key components to the position :
Pillar Ownership & Stakeholder Engagement :
- Act as the analytics lead for a defined business pillar, building strong relationships with stakeholders from Associate to Director level
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Partner) to shape strategy and inform decision-making with data
- Translate complex business questions into clear analytical approaches and actionable insights
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Provide technical leadership for analytics delivery in your pillar, setting standards for data quality, reproducibility, and documentationReview and guide the work of other analysts, ensuring robust methodology and scalable solutionsDesign, build, and maintain analytics assets including Looker dashboards, Google Sheets models, and automated workflows using Airflow and SQLDevelop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure availability, accuracy, and performance of data sourcesPartner with engineering and data platform teams to integrate analytics into new product features and ensure data capture is in placeRoadmap & Capability Building
Work closely with Data Product Managers to align analytics delivery with product roadmaps and business prioritiesIdentify gaps in analytics capabilities and propose solutions (tooling, training, data sources) to enable faster and better decision-makingCoach and mentor analysts in your pillar, helping build their technical and business acumenChampion best practices in experimentation design (e.g. A / B tests) and measurement frameworks to evaluate the impact of business initiativesWhat will you bring to the team?
4–6+ years experience in analytics, BI, or a related field, ideally with experience as a senior or lead analystAdvanced SQL skills and experience with Looker (or similar BI tools)Strong experience building spreadsheet-based models and business cases (Excel / Google Sheets)Familiarity with data workflow orchestration tools such as AirflowExperience integrating analytics into product development workflows and ensuring data captureStrong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred)Excellent stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior business leadersDemonstrated ability to guide and review others’ analytics work to raise quality and standardsStrong problem-solving and structured thinking skills; able to move from ambiguity to clear, actionable analysisEffective communicator and presenter, able to translate complex data into compelling storiesAt JET, this is how we play
