The Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity will have responsibilities as the technical authority for security engineering elements for our client's aerospace missions, large defense contracts such as the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) project and diverse in-house developed products spanning from cloud-based GeoIntelligence platforms to our client's laser warning systems.
The successful candidate will have a blend of deep security knowledge, systems engineering experience, and experience working within defense contracts.
Qualifications :
- 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience, 5+ years within the Cybersecurity Environment.
- Experience working on Classified Security Solutions for Canadian military customers
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP designation)
- Experience working within CSE ITS guidelines (Canadian Security Assessment and Authorization)
- Preferred Qualities :
- Background in defense type of environment (Aerospace / Military / Cybersecurity)
- Experience on the Architect side of Systems Engineering
- Exposure to designing Networks
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team, leading the team technically
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree or combination of education and experience

If successful with offer, you will need to obtain Security Clearance at the Reliability Status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
Candidate should have residency in Canada or a NATO program approved country for the last 10 years minimum. Canadian Citizenship or long-term PR status only for this position.
Duties of the Role :
- Consulting on the overall system architectures and operations concepts from a security perspective;
- Develop and maintain all security related system artefacts ( specifications, ICDs, profiles, test documents, etc) from the customer level down to the major subsystem level;
- Derive security requirements, designs, solutions and mechanisms in response to current DND security focus including CSE Security Controls and Directives;
- Develop and lead all security acceptance and accreditation programs for Classified systems;
- Support engineering program delivery through the development and generation of security related artefacts such as engineering plans, engineering budgets, design reports, and operational concepts;
- Act as group lead, responsible for scheduling and assigning work, reviewing the technical adequacy of work products, meeting cost and schedule for security deliverables and for interface coordination with other groups
