Intent of the process

A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and Edmonton with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment)

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education :

Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the design and construction of Real Property projects.

Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements and other fixtures on, above, or below the surface of the land.

Experience :

• Recent experience in project management of Real Property projects.
• Recent experience in the planning and design of Real Property projects.
• Recent experience in reviewing plans and specifications for Real Property projects prepared by consulting architects and engineers.

Experience in providing advice to clients

Experience in preparing scope of work, developing work plans, and prioritizing projects.

Recent experience is defined as a minimum of five years of Canadian experience within the last ten years.

Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements and other fixtures on, above, or below the surface of the land.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualifications :

Experience in the preparation and management of building condition reports, regulatory compliance documents or energy studies related to sustainable development in Real Property projects.

Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements and other fixtures on, above, or below the surface of the land.

Experience in building partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.

Experience in negotiating with consultants.

Experience working with and organizing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects.

LEED professional accreditation.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

English essential

Knowledge :

• Knowledge of project management practices;
• Knowledge of engineering or architectural technology including Canadian building codes and / or standards;

Knowledge of contract management.

Public service employees found qualified in this process may be considered for acting, assignment, deployment or secondment.

A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
