Location : 45 Rodinea Road, Maple, ON. There are no hybrid or work from home opportunities for this role.
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Learn Heavy-Bid Estimating software and current Estimating processes, including application of gained knowledge and expertise in live pursuits of varying value and risk profile
- Perform duties as lead ETL actor for development and incorporation of Heavy-Bid estimating process to specifications of department head
- Develop Excel and Heavy-Bid inputs for Estimating Process to specifications of department head
- Develop Excel and Heavy-Bid outputs for Estimating process and Preconstruction Program management to specifications of department head
- Build operation manual for use, updating and continued development of Estimating process to specifications of department head
- Apply functional principals related to Process Optimization
- Learn basic structure and function of Estimating and Costing levels, packets and resources, and apply structure as a portion of Process Development
- Review project costs and compare estimates to won bids
- Review project revenues and compare estimates to won bids
- Organize personal activities and respond effectively and efficiently with the business objectives set by the manager
- Supplement directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, including standardized pricing
- Ensure good quality and accurate record keeping
- Organize and maintain unit pricing and database for material, equipment and labour costing
- Organize and maintain measured mile database for common scopes of work
- Build and develop budgets for project turnover
- Incorporate estimates and ongoing projects into master resource schedule
- Assist in building data visualizations, including making recommendations toward improving company metric dashboard(s)
- Provide general assistance to Preconstruction and Operations staff in proper translation and interpretation of data and metrics
Requirements :
- Experience analyzing datasets and training statistical models using R, Python, or equivalent
- Has or is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
- Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
- Excellent MS office skills (with a focus on Excel)
- Experience using and building with MS Excel / VBA in a corporate context
- Expertise with modern database technologies and SQL
- Expertise in P6 or MS Project
- An interest or experience in Economics, Finance or Accounting
- An interest in the Construction Industry
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada no work permit sponsorship is available for this position.
