Senior Automation Test Engineer – Vancity
Vancity is a member‑owned credit union committed to inclusion and social justice. We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our 2,700‑person team.
About the workplace
This is a permanent, full‑time role that offers hybrid work. You’ll primarily work from Vancity’s head office, occasionally attending in‑person events.
Typical day would involve
- Main point of contact for testing framework with architects, infrastructure, operations, information security, and other teams.
- Acting as a subject‑matter expert on QA, automating web applications (Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow, TOSCA), mobile apps (Appium) and APIs.
- Designing and maintaining automated and performance test frameworks.
- Creating and reviewing test strategies and plans, integrating automated regression scripts into CI / CD pipelines.
- Providing QA support on test‑environment issues.
- Managing defects and collaborating with development and architecture on design and resolution.
- Co‑ordinating UAT with business teams.
- Ensuring tooling security and up‑to‑date versions.
- Advising stakeholders to mitigate risks.
- Writing SQL queries and scripts to validate data.
- Collaborating with development, vendor, release, operations, and infrastructure teams.
- Contributing to team efficiency alongside Scrum members.
- Providing technical support and mentoring QA team members.
You have
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.4–7 years of QA experience in a complex, integrated technology environment, preferably finance.2+ years of QA experience on web, mobile, and back‑end applications.2+ years of test automation experience; hands‑on with tools such as Selenium, SpecFlow, TOSCA, Appium; TOSCA knowledge is a plus.Deep knowledge in C++, Selenium, Dapper, SpecFlow and BDD, Appium, Sauce Labs, Xcode, JMeter, Splunk, and other automation tools.Proficiency in SQL, data analytics, and integration tools like MuleSoft.Experience with Windows scripting languages (PowerShell, JScript, VBScript).Experience preparing test strategy and approach for projects.Ability to quickly respond to changes in test cases.Experience mentoring / coaching team members.Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.Experience with system and software integration with multiple vendors.Bonus points if you have
Experience with Temenos T24 banking system.On‑line & mobile banking testing experience.Leading QA teams in project settings.API testing experience.Performance and load testing experience.Test environment data requirements ownership.Agile development experience in Azure DevOps.Testing certifications such as ISTQB.You are

Salary range : $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay may vary by qualifications and experience. Total rewards include incentive programs.
