Job Description :
We’re looking for a(n) Senior Staff Engineer, Network Observability who will take a hands‑on lead role in administering, maintaining, and enhancing TJX’s enterprise network tools portfolio, including DXNetOps, ThousandEyes, NetBrain, and other monitoring platforms. This position gives you the opportunity to drive meaningful impact through tool optimization, automation development, and API / ITSM integrations that elevate the performance of our global network environment. You’ll serve as a trusted expert, providing advanced support and training to operational teams while shaping the future of our observability capabilities. What You’ll Do :
Tool Administration & Maintenance
Oversee Administration and maintenance of NetOps, Thousand Eyes, NetBrain, NetScout, and enterprise network monitoring platformsPerform daily health checks, system monitoring, and performance optimizationPlan software upgrades, patches, and version controlConfigure and maintain user accounts, roles, permissions, and access controlsMonitor tool performance metrics and proactively address issuesMaintain high availability and disaster recovery configurationsTroubleshoot platform issues and work with vendors on advanced support casesEnsure platform security compliance and implement security best practicesManage licensing, capacity planning, and resource utilizationAutomation & Integration Development
Develop and maintain automation workflows using Python, PowerShell, and REST APIsBuild integrations between network tools and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira)Create custom API connectors for data exchange with enterprise systemsDesign and implement automated runbooks for common operational tasksDevelop data parsers and adapters for new device types and vendorsBuild custom dashboards and visualizations for operational metricsImplement CI / CD pipelines for tool configuration managementAutomate reporting and alerting workflowsUser Support & Training
Provide tier 2 technical support to L1 operations teamTroubleshoot complex user issues with network tools and workflowsCreate and maintain training materials and documentationConduct hands-on training sessions for new features and capabilitiesDevelop user guides, quick reference cards, and best practice documentsMaintain internal knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guidesOnboard new team members on tool usage and workflowsGather user feedback and translate into enhancement requestsServe as subject matter expert for tool capabilitiesEnhancement Delivery & Projects
Implement new tool features, modules, and capabilitiesExecute integration projects connecting tools to enterprise platformsDeploy configuration changes and updates following change management processesSupport tool migration and consolidation initiativesTest new releases and features in lab environment before production deploymentCoordinate with vendors on proof-of-concept evaluationsParticipate in tool evaluation and selection processesDocument implementation procedures and lessons learnedAbout You :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field4-6 years of hands-on network engineering or network operations experienceStrong experience with Network monitoring tools, Broadcom DXNetOps, Thousand Eyes, Netscout, Grafana, PowerBIWorking knowledge of packet analysis toolsIntermediate-level scripting skills : Python (required), PowerShell, Bash, JavaScriptStrong API integration experience : REST APIs, JSON, XML, authentication methodsKnowledge of network protocols : TCP / IP, BGP, SDWAN, ADVPN, EIGRP, MPLSExperience with multi-vendor network environments : Fortinet, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5Familiarity with Git version control and CI / CD practicesUnderstanding of SQL / database queries for data extraction and reportingExperience with Linux / Unix systems administrationCertifications (Preferred)
