About the Medical Imaging Department
As part of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging with University Health Network, Women’s College Hospital, and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department provides a state-of-the-art environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching, and research programs.
An international leader in medical imaging, we conduct a large volume of various exams for diverse patient populations from the Emergency Department to outpatients and inpatients.
The department features state-of-the-art technology and a team of innovative professionals dedicated to patient care.
In this role you will :
- Receive, process and schedule Medical Imaging procedures
- Screen patients for necessary PPID and Falls Prevention
- Ensure the provision of optimum customer service through efficient delivery
- Answer telephones, retrieve voicemails and return calls in a timely manner
- Respond to inquiries made by patients, visitors and hospital staff
- Verify and update patient demographic data
- Create and register patients in the Hospital Information System (HIS)
- Ensure payment information is correctly gathered and entered i.e. MOH, Insurances, WSIB and Self Pay
- Communicate patient preparation to patients
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Mandatory
- Successful completion of a high school diploma
- Keyboard speed of words per minute
Preferred
- 1 - 2 years recent receptionist experience in a healthcare environment and data entry experience with Cerner / ADT system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Abel ERP Software
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills demonstrated with telephone, interpersonal and written interactions
- Ability to use good judgement and sensitivity in assessing difficult intimate patient treatment situations
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure in a variety of office / clinic areas
- Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
