Job Summary
The Business Architect role is a critical part of SE Health’s Enterprise Architecture function, responsible for translating business strategy into operational reality. This role provides a structured view of how SE Health operates today and how it must evolve to support organization-wide modernization and ongoing digital transformation. The Business Architect captures, models, and optimizes clinical and business operations using BPMN 2.0 across legacy systems and modern SaaS platforms, ensuring compliance, scalability, and standardization. The role enables future‑state workflow design that enhances digital patient care and the workforce experience. By bridging business needs with technology enablement, the Business Architect supports data‑driven decisions, process governance, and change adoption, and plays a central role in integrating new digital platforms across the enterprise while contributing directly to SE Health’s mission of delivering exceptional home and community care.
Business Process Modelling and Documentation
- Capture and document current state and future state business processes using BPMN 2.0
- Develop end to end workflows, process maps, and diagrams that visualize operations and system interactions.
- Ensure models are accurate, standardized, and reusable across transformation initiatives.
- Model processes involving legacy systems and modern SaaS platforms, ensuring operational clarity and scalability.
Strategic Alignment of Business Capabilities
Translate organizational priorities into process architectures and capability structures that enable scalability, digital enablement and improved service deliveryConnect business processes to enterprise architecture views including people, data, applications and technology to support a unified enterprise modelIdentify capability gaps and recommend process solutions aligned with transformation roadmaps and modernization initiativesPartner with senior leaders to provide insights that support prioritization, investment planning and operational readinessAnalysis, Optimization and Continuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and automation opportunities to enhance productivity and service quality.Define performance measures for key processes and build visibility into operational variances impacting quality and client experience.Propose improvements that enhance workflow efficiency, reduce manual effort and ensure consistent execution across teams.Support business case development for digital and process change investments with data driven insights.Collaboration and Cross Functional Facilitation
Work closely with business units, Digital teams, PMO and product owners to gather validated requirements and ensure alignment on operational outcomes.Facilitate design workshops, mapping sessions and reviews that drive understanding and agreement across stakeholders at all levels.Document and communicate process impacts and transition requirements to support adoption and change management.Build strong relationships that promote transparent communication and shared accountability for process success.Standards, Governance and Process Repository Management
Establish modelling standards, templates, naming conventions and BPMN taxonomy to drive consistency.Maintain an accurate and up to date process repository with version history and traceability.Ensure alignment to privacy, security and healthcare compliance obligations such as PHIPA and HIPAA.Promote BPM maturity by coaching teams on modelling practices.Integration, SaaS Enablement and Technical Governance
Collaborate with solution architects to align business process models to system integrations, APIs and data flows.Assess legacy workflows and dependencies to support transition toward modern SaaS architectures.Document integration points critical to workflow continuity and user experience during modernization.Support architecture decision making to ensure secure and compliant enablement of health information across cloud and hybrid environments.Healthcare and Homecare Workflow Modelling
Model clinical and operational workflows that reflect home and community care delivery requirements.Ensure process alignment with healthcare data interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.Support transformation of scheduling, documentation and care coordination workflows unique to healthcare service deliveryQualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of legacy system architecture and modernization strategiesExperience with healthcare IT standards including HL7, FHIR and EMR or EHR systemsUnderstanding of SaaS architecture, APIs and integration patternsFamiliarity with data governance and privacy regulations in healthcare settingsProficiency in BPMN modelling tools integrated with enterprise architecture platforms such as MEGA or BoomiProficiency in Visio and swim lane process mappingWorking knowledge of JIRA for requirements and workflow trackingBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related fieldProficiency in BPMN 2.0 and modelling tools such as Visio, Sparx Enterprise Architect or similarStrong understanding of business process management principlesExperience in process analysis, modelling and optimizationFamiliarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate is an assetExcellent communication and facilitation skills for cross functional collaborationAnalytical mindset with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear modelsPreferred Certifications
