Job Description

Our manufacturing facility located in Langley is seeking a dedicated Shop Helper to join our team. As a Shop Helper, you will work on the production line using hand and power tools, grinders, and other shop tools to finish industrial-sized rims used in large mining trucks.

This role involves grinding off and finishing pre-welded / fabricated rims, operating belt sanders and grinders, performing basic MIG welding, and visually inspecting products for defects.

Training will be provided for visual inspections and potentially for operating a CNC plasma table in the future.

Work Environment

Our production floor is a large, open environment focused on heavy industrial manufacturing of rims for the mining industry.

While the shop can be cold and dirty, many of our employees have been with us for over 20 years, highlighting a strong sense of community and dedication.

This position starts on the day shift but requires availability for afternoon shifts as well. Day Shift : 6 : 45am-3 : 05pm, Afternoon Shift : 2 : 45pm-11 : 15pm.

Responsibilities

• Grind and finish pre-welded / fabricated rims
• Operate belt sanders, grinders, and other shop tools
• Perform basic MIG welding tasks
• Visually inspect products for defects
• Occasionally operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals are met

Essential Skills

• 6 months experience in an industrial shop
• Mechanically inclined with experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Good attitude with eagerness to learn and take initiative
• Reliable transportation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• C-level welding ticket
• Experience with overhead cranes
• Experience with CNC or plasma tables
