Project Management Consultant
Position Overview : We are seeking a skilled Project Management Consultant to join our team, focusing on a prestigious aerospace client.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project teams, ensuring successful completion of projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities : Project Team Management Collaborate with team members to ensure project completion aligned with timelines, budgets, and quality metrics (On-Time Delivery, Financial Performance, Customer Satisfaction).
Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders. Conduct contract review meetings for new aircraft completions.
Document and update program risks, monitoring their impact throughout the project lifecycle. Translate executed contracts into internal statements of work, managing revisions and changes.
Understand and manage project schedules and budgets effectively. Evaluate and challenge productivity targets and results.
Customer Management Guide customers through the aircraft acquisition and completion process, focusing on enhancing their experience.
Listen to customer needs and provide education and advice throughout the project. Navigate difficult and sensitive situations with finesse, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Scheduling and Planning Develop and manage completion schedules for assigned projects. Continuously monitor project progress, updating timelines weekly with actual start / finish dates.
Define countermeasures and recovery schedules to maintain customer delivery dates. Provide inputs to the department’s production schedule and workload planning.
Adjust schedules based on changing project requirements, keeping all parties informed. Project Budgeting and Control Develop project budgets in collaboration with functional departments, utilizing MS Excel and MS Access Database.
Verify budget inputs using actuals from previous similar projects. Ensure the validity of budget inputs and adjust based on change orders.
Track Cost Performance Indicators (CPI) throughout the project lifecycle. R&D & Project Management Prepare business cases for new engineering development projects.
Create customer quotes for new STC development work. Monitor project progress and budget adherence. Contract Management Engage early in the offer / proposal / sales phase to provide technical advice on configuration and compatibility.
Maintain full ownership of contracts from initiation to completion. Conduct (Pre-)Contract Review meetings with the Project Team to confirm configurations and mitigate risks.
Ensure real-time tracking of contractual changes, managing them in relation to schedules and budgets. Qualifications : Education : University Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Project / Program Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Scrum certification is a plus. Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace project management, particularly in aircraft completions, maintenance, and repair, or equivalent roles.
Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations is essential. Financial experience related to budgeting and cost management. Technical background to understand and interpret technical data packages.
Skills and Capabilities : Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proactive in identifying risks and developing appropriate mitigations.
Initiative-driven with excellent organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to travel as needed.
