Job Description

Summary

Providence Health Care is hiring for Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses to join our Long-Term Care team at Providence Health Care.

Holy Family Residence

Holy Family Residenceis home to 126 extended care residents. Our residence is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team, and is based on principles to create a human habitat environment. Loneliness, helplessness and boredom have been identified as the three conditions that plague elders in residential care. The philosophy of care at Holy Family Residence is based on the alleviation of these three plagues. Our residents and staff come from a variety of cultures and walks of life. Each resident is valued as a unique person, deserving of support in order to enjoy a meaningful quality of life.

Holy Family has easy access to a large outdoor patio where residents are encouraged to grow flowers and vegetables in the summer. We have a quiet chapel. We have homey, well lit dining/activity spaces. We have a kitchen space accessible to residents and families.

Our social model of care and quality improvement is called "Home for Us". This model of care aims to increase the engagement of each resident by focusing on the following principles: emotional connections matter most, residents direct each moment, and home is a feeling. If you are passionate about seniors' care, we want to hear from you!
