We are recruiting for 2 positions; Fulltime Day shift and Casual Evening shift (Monday to Fridays only, no weekends required).
Candidates must possess certification in MRI technology from an accredited college or university, with active credentials and membership in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and the Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT / CMRIPS).
Candidates with other provincial memberships are encouraged to apply. Basic Cardiac Life Support CPR / First Aid and IV certification is also required.
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is responsible for operating the MRI scanner and accessory equipment and performing examinations in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan standards and guidelines, while adhering to CAMRT standards of practice and code of ethics.
- Ensuring accuracy of consultation request is verified in all cases without error, including no errors in patient identification, and complete and accurate patient screening
- Explaining procedures to patients, assisting patients to facilitate transport and positions, and ensuring their needs are fulfilled while always adhering to patient confidentiality
- Fulfilling requisitions for MRI services, performing routine performance checks on equipment, and reporting non-operational equipment or equipment failure
- Ensuring materials, procedure areas, and patients are prepared for the procedure
- Coordinating the attending physician for all contrast examinations ensuring they are all properly supervised, and safely carried out, ensuring departmental imaging quality standards are maintained
- Participating in educational programs, seminars, in-services, and workshops
- Assisting in providing a complete and accurate reporting to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)
Compensation of $42.00 / hr-$55.00 / hr depending on education and experience, plus group benefits including a health and personal spending account (Wellness Dollars), generous vacation time, paid sick time and an RRSP matching program, annual reimbursement for professional dues and an annual education allowance that can be used for training and conference attendance.
