Key Responsibilities - Install, maintain, inspect, and repair industrial plumbing and piping systems. - Troubleshoot water supply, drainage, sewer, hot-water, steam, compressed-air, and process-water systems. - Repair and replace pipes, valves, pumps, fixtures, backflow-prevention devices, and related equipment. - Respond promptly to leaks, blockages, equipment failures, and other urgent maintenance issues. - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules. - Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, piping diagrams, and equipment manuals. - Support plant renovation, equipment installation, and continuous-improvement projects. - Complete work orders and accurately document inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance activities. - Work safely around production equipment, chemicals, wet environments, and confined spaces. - Follow all GMP, HACCP, food-safety, sanitation, lockout/tagout, and company safety requirements. - Coordinate maintenance activities with production, sanitation, contractors, and other trades. - Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. - Participate in the plant's after-hours or emergency call-out rotation when required. - Perform other maintenance duties within the scope of the position. Qualifications - Valid Journeyperson Plumber certification; Red Seal endorsement is strongly preferred. - Previous industrial plumbing experience is required; food-processing or meat-production experience is an asset. - Experience working with stainless-steel piping, process-water, steam, drainage, and compressed-air systems is preferred. - Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. - Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and occupational health and safety requirements. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
