About the Opportunity

BFG Enterprise Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support strategic sourcing and day-to-day procurement activities across our national operations. Working closely with Procurement leadership and internal stakeholders, this role manages competitive bids, supplier relationships, purchase orders, contract administration and process improvements to help deliver value, reliable supply and excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, timelines, service expectations and business priorities.

  • Support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, RFIs, RFQs and RFPs, including bid evaluation, supplier selection and recommendations.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, competitive pricing, standardization, operational efficiency and supply-risk reduction.

  • Maintain awareness of supplier markets, product categories, industry trends and strategic sourcing best practices.

Supplier & Contract Management
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, distributors and service providers; follow up on pricing, availability, lead times and performance.

  • Assist with supplier negotiations and the preparation, review, renewal and administration of contracts, statements of work and service agreements.

  • Coordinate supplier qualification, onboarding and vendor master data updates in accordance with company approval and due-diligence requirements.

  • Support supplier compliance reviews, including applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption due diligence, and escalate risks or performance concerns.

Purchase Order & Operational Support
  • Review purchase requisitions and create, issue, track, amend and maintain purchase orders accurately and on time.

  • Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, logistics, finance and operational teams to resolve order discrepancies, delivery delays, invoicing issues and other procurement exceptions.

  • Monitor outstanding orders, supplier confirmations and expected delivery dates; communicate potential supply interruptions and recommend alternatives.

  • Maintain complete procurement records and use approved templates and processes for bids, contracts, purchase orders and related documentation.

  • Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, supplier performance tracking and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing or supply chain operations.

  • Working knowledge of competitive bidding, supplier management, contract administration and purchase order processes.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, organizational and project coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ability to learn ERP and procurement systems; experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP is an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication, stakeholder service and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound judgment, integrity, accountability and commitment to company policies and ethical procurement practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, in progress or completed, or a comparable procurement credential.

  • Experience supporting technology hardware, field services, facilities or property-management procurement.

  • Experience in a multi-location organization with time-sensitive customer or project requirements.

What Success Looks Like

Purchase orders are accurate and timely; suppliers meet agreed delivery and service expectations; sourcing activities are well documented; procurement risks are escalated early; and measurable cost and process improvements are identified and implemented.

This is a regular, full-time position based in Markham, Ontario. The annual salary range is $53,000 – $62,000 CAD. Starting compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
