Responsibilities
Pharmacy Assistant and Shipping Support - Temporary Assignment, Minimum 3 Months - South Edmonton - Healthcare
Navigate internal operating systems to print accurate daily drug pick lists and prescription labels.
Utilize Kroll pharmacy software to print receipts and handle exceptions for non-standard items.
Assist the pharmacy filling team with medication labeling, sorting, and last-minute additions to shipments.
Retrieve specified medications across storage zones and perform brief pop-ins into ambient walk-in coolers (max time in a cooler would be estimated as 10-15 minutes while wearing PPE if you are asked to support receiving duties). No use of forklift required, carts may be used, pallet truck is available but is not required to be used.
Use handheld barcode scanners to verify transaction numbers, patient details, and drug specifications.
Package orders appropriately based on temperature guidelines, using ice units for cold-chain items or standard packaging for room temperature medications.
Stage packed orders, transfer finished inventory to the shipping area, and assist with tote sorting and receiving.
Maintain clean work areas and restock packaging supplies across prescrtption filling, picking and shipping stations.
Qualifications

Background as a Pharmacy Assistant with experience in medication sorting, filling, and handling retail totes from wholesalers is a great skillset to set you up for success.
Comfort navigating computer databases, spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel), and standard operating systems relating to prescriptions or medical devices. No billing and adjudication is required of this role.
Ability to lift, pull, and maneuver up to 30 to 35 lbs on a regular basis as part of your reguiar duties.
High physical mobility for active standing, bending, reaching, and walking across multiple storage zones throughout this regulated pharmacy facility
Comfortable entering walk-in cooler units for short receiving tasks (up to a max of approximately 10 to 15 minutes at a time).
Hands-on experience with Kroll pharmacy management software is preferred.
Experience using handheld barcode scanners in a fulfillment or pharmacy environment is preferred.
