JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the press department lead, the feeder directly supports the sheet-fed press: preparing paper, supplying raw materials, and assisting during job changes. It's a hands-on learning role, meant to build toward press operation.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and deliver paper based on production needs.
- Check incoming raw materials for quality before use.
- Set up equipment needed for make-readies.
- Keep the press stocked with paper, solvents, and consumables.
- Support the operator through job changes.
- Help spot and fix small production issues.
- Help cut down on raw material waste.
- Keep your workstation clean, organized, and safe.
- Take part in cleanup, recycling, and basic maintenance.
- Make sure needed consumables are always on hand.
- Work closely with the press team day to day.
- Pass along relevant information between shifts.
- Follow the health and safety rules in place.
- Flag anything that could affect safety or quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- DES, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting.
- No printing experience required — full training provided on site.
- Good physical capacity to safely handle materials.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Team player and resourceful.
