Responsibilities
Here are the responsibilities for this Software Test Technician at this Medical Device leader in Winnipeg;
Test Development & Execution: Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts and test cases for medical device software in accordance with approved plans and requirements.
Automation Frameworks: Build and maintain automated test tools and suites using C#, WPF, C++, NUnit, Google Test, and JUnit.
Environment Setup: Configure and maintain test environments, hardware/software test benches, and laboratory equipment required for verification testing.
Defect Management & Reporting: Record, document, and report test results and anomalies with clear traceability, supporting root-cause investigations and retesting through closure.
Traceability & CI/CD: Maintain traceability between requirements and results within Jama, and support automated test execution and monitoring through Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
Regulatory Compliance: Follow FDA, ISO, CSA, and EU regulations, ensuring all test documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
Medical Imaging Testing: Support testing of image processing and visualization features, including DICOM-based workflows.
Qualifications
Here are the qualifications required for this Software Test Technician at this Medical Device leader in Winnipeg;
Associate’s degree or technical certification in software engineering, computer science, or engineering technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and/or software testing, preferably within a regulated medical device environment.
Application development and test automation experience using C#, WPF, and C++.
Hands-on expertise with automated test frameworks such as NUnit, Google Test, JUnit, or comparable tools.
Familiarity with requirements management tools (Jama) and automation orchestration tools (Jenkins).
Experience with VTK/ITK and DICOM image processing and visualization is a strong asset.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA principles, with the ability to interpret design specifications and test protocols.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
