Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Project Engineer for a unique opportunity supporting industrial facilities, engineering projects, and technical services in Hamilton, ON. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in project management, mechanical or chemical engineering, industrial construction, facility design, pressure piping systems, and contractor management.

You will oversee engineering projects, provide technical expertise to operations and business teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Pay Rate: $77.87/hour

  • Location: Hamilton, ON

  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:
Project Management & Engineering

  • Manage industrial facility projects from planning and design through commissioning.

  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and budgets.

  • Monitor project progress, risks, costs, and timelines.

  • Prepare technical specifications, standards, and project documentation.

  • Review engineering drawings, equipment selections, and contractor proposals.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and construction activities.

  • Manage tendering, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.

  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners.

  • Support operational, sales, and technical teams with engineering expertise.

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with engineering codes, regulations, and company standards.

  • Promote health, safety, environmental, and quality initiatives.

  • Identify risks, solve technical challenges, and implement corrective actions.

  • Support continuous improvement, innovation, and new technology initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

  • P.Eng. designation in good standing with a Canadian engineering association.

  • Minimum 7 years of engineering and project management experience in industrial environments.

  • Experience managing industrial construction, facility, infrastructure, or capital projects.

  • Strong knowledge of pressure piping systems, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment.

  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, and risk assessment.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of Cryogenic pumps, storage tanks, vaporizers, and compressors.

  • Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, CSA, NFPA, and CGA codes and standards.

  • Knowledge of National Building Code requirements.

  • Knowledge of Industrial facility design and construction practices.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
