The Opportunity

Mosaic is seeking a Data Analytics and Integration Specialist to work out of either our Nanaimo or Vancouver, BC office.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Data, Analytics & Integration, the Data Analytics and Integration Specialist will maintain and manage the various organization data integrations, the data warehouse and business intelligence and analysis tools.

In addition, the Data Analytics and Integration Specialist will provide subject matter expertise to advise on organizational projects, data governance and the on boarding of new data sources in support of the organization’s digital transformation initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Architecture, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of new and existing data warehouses and cubes;
  • Capacity and performance monitoring and planning of the data storage systems;
  • Working with vendors and business owners to determine the specifications and requirements for new data integrations;
  • Development and implementation of new data integrations from internal and external data sources;
  • Monitoring, maintenance, and enhancements to existing data integrations;
  • Implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of automated and self-serve reporting services (Power BI and SSRS);
  • Development and enhancement of data visualization services such as dashboards;
  • Maintain current best practices and technology stances through the investigation and trialing of new reporting services & technology;
  • Development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of new and existing data analytics tools and custom applications;
  • Research and evaluate current and emerging data analytics tools and platforms for their applicability to the organization;
  • Addressing user requests and technical support tickets;
  • Work closely with the business analyst role under the Planning & Improvement department to develop and implement the tools required to derive business insight;
  • Conduct group and one-on-one training to employees on a regular basis and as required to ensure efficient utilization of the services put in place by the Analytics and Reporting team; and
  • Produce and maintain documentation for the systems, services, and integrations managed under the Business Analytics and Reporting function.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years experience supporting SQL based data warehouses, ETL, and reporting / analysis tools;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Able to work in team-based environments and independently;
  • Able to work with various levels of management and staff;
  • Experience in business process analysis;
  • Experience in translating business process and requirements to technical requirements;
  • Experience in system and data governance through policy and change control processes;
  • Experience in developing technical and procedural documents;
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, networking, client / server architecture, cloud services, and Active Directory services;
  • Experience with Visual Studio for data management, report creation, API based development and various data handling protocols including JSON, XML, and XSLT;
  • Experience with source control, Azure DevOps and GIT;
  • Experience with C# for both web based and console application development;
  • Experience with MSSQL and T-SQL;
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS;
  • Familiar with the engineering approach to all phases of the Scrum project management framework; and
  • Experience with Oracle databases will be considered an asset.

Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $88,000 to $110,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill, relevant experience, and education.
