Mechanical Assembler

We are currently seeking reliable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assemblers to join a busy manufacturing team in Barrie. This position involves assembling mechanical components and products using hand and power tools while following drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, maintaining high quality standards, and contributing to a safe and productive workplace.

Pay Rate:$19.50 to $20.50/hour (based on experience)

Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and finished products according to specifications and work instructions
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly instructions
• Use hand and power tools such as wrenches, sockets, and drill guns
• Gather materials and components required for production orders
• Perform quality checks and identify product defects during assembly
• Complete required production and quality documentation
• Assist with machine operation and other production activities as needed
• Prepare completed products for packaging and shipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Work cooperatively with team members to meet production goals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in manufacturing or assembly is considered an asset
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures in English
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to work overtime when required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Good manual dexterity for handling tools and small components
• Ability to work in a physically active manufacturing environment

• CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
• Safety glasses
