Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:40 PM (On-site)

Salary: $57,000-$65,000 per year

Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a Purchaser to join our client’s team in Port Coquitlam, BC. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized procurement professional who enjoys working with suppliers, managing orders, and ensuring materials are delivered on time.

What You'll Do:

  • Place, process, and track purchase orders for parts and materials.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Act as a key point of contact between suppliers and internal departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring reliable service and favorable terms.
  • Monitor shipment and delivery statuses to ensure materials arrive on time.
  • Expedite orders when necessary and proactively manage delivery schedules.
  • Hold vendors accountable for agreed-upon lead times, on-time delivery, fill rates, and timely communication regarding delays.
  • Process claims related to shipment discrepancies, damaged or missing materials, and invoice issues.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal departments to investigate and resolve claims.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to purchasing activities, shipment statuses, and supplier performance.
  • Analyze procurement data and provide recommendations to improve processes and supplier relationships.
  • Complete administrative and other related duties as required to support procurement and supply chain functions.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of direct purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience, preferably within a manufacturing, automotive, distribution, or supply chain environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is an asset.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office with advance proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory, or procurement systems is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, internal departments, and management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders, suppliers, and competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Automotive or automotive parts knowledge is considered an asset.
