The mission of the Operations & Automation Intern at Cozey

Your mission is to help build operations capable of supporting Cozey's growth into new markets and the continued expansion of our product lineup, and to make sure the work you do once doesn't have to be done by hand again. That means real ownership from the start. You'll populate our Product Information Management system across the active catalog, help stand up the data structure for our multi-fulfilment-centre project, and run pricing validations that directly protect margin. You'll also dig into why orders get stuck, find the root cause, and work with fulfilment, supply chain, and tech to fix it.

It also means a second mandate running through all of it: anything you do a second or third time, you automate. Our operations team runs on AI assistants wired into our live systems, from our order management platform to Shopify, NetSuite, and our warehouse data, plus scheduled agents that catch exceptions before a human ever looks. You'll use that stack from week one and extend it. We'd rather you leave behind tooling than a completed to-do list.

We're looking for someone comfortable with data, rigorous about details, and curious enough to challenge how things work, including whether a task should exist at all, who's excited to be part of a growing Canadian start-up with very large ambitions.

What you'll be doing:

• Populate the Product Information Management (PIM) system across the active catalog, keeping product attributes complete, validated, and consistent, and build the automated checks that keep them that way as the catalog grows.
• Set up the data structure and populate master data for our multi-fulfilment-centre project, a critical enabler of Cozey's network expansion.
• Run pricing validations across the website, Shopify, and the finance-approved pricing master to surface and close mismatches, then turn that validation into a recurring automated comparison so issues surface the day they appear.
• Build recurring monitoring of pending orders, run root cause analysis to categorize drivers (inventory, freight, system, vendor), and partner with fulfilment, supply chain, and tech teams on corrective actions.
• Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes and redesign them with AI tooling, scheduled automations, scripts, or better system logic, then document what you built so it survives past your internship.

What we're looking for:

• Bilingualism (English and French), and currently enrolled in a Bachelor's in industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, information systems, computer science, data science, or any field where you've learned to think in systems. We care more about what you can build than what's printed on the degree.
• Comfort with numbers and data tools (Excel, Google Sheets), and curiosity about how product, pricing, and inventory data move across systems like a PIM, Shopify, and a WMS. Exposure to SQL, Python, or scripting is an asset, but no programming background is required.
• Fluency with AI tools as a working instrument, or a genuine appetite to get there. You've used them for real work, you know where they're unreliable, and you verify their output.
• High standards and pride in getting things right. You believe small, compounding improvements drive big results.
• Integrity and accountability. When you spot an issue, you flag it, own it, and see it through.
• Relentless curiosity, with the customer in mind in every operational detail. You dig into root causes, challenge "that's just how it is," and remember that clean data and on-time orders are how Cozey earns long-term trust.
