As a part-time Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk, you will work directly alongside the Controller while providing essential data entry and invoice management support to a team of 6 sales representatives in a fast-paced industrial environment. Your primary focus will center on accurate and efficient accounts payable data entry, managing financial records, maintaining meticulous physical and digital paperwork, and entering information into computer systems with precision. From keying in daily shipment information to managing incoming vendor invoices and tracking payment schedules to ensure early-payment discounts are secured, your high-volume data entry speed and attention to detail will keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. This position is tailored for candidates who possess established knowledge of finance & accounting concepts and accounts payable terminology right from day one.

Following a hands-on 1-day one-on-one training session, you will step into a self-directed, "figure-it-out-as-you-go" work environment where independence and proactive problem-solving are valued. As an Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk, you will be expected to communicate directly and assertively, asking clarifying questions whenever necessary to ensure data accuracy and maintain high standards across all paperwork. For parents or individuals re-entering the workforce who need a supportive environment with flexible scheduling alongside competitive pay, this role offers an ideal balance of stability, responsibility, and professional independence. There is also potential for additional working hours during peak operational periods or vacation coverage.

Responsibilities
• Key in, verify, and organize incoming vendor invoices into databases for industrial goods and services.
• Execute high-speed, precise accounts payable data entry to maintain up-to-date vendor ledgers and secure volume discounts.
• Support 6 sales team members by entering daily shipment details and compiling data needed for customer billing.
• Manage incoming financial paperwork and audit data entry records for potential discrepancies or missing information.
• Maintain organized, up-to-date digital files, physical paper documents, and vendor records.
• Communicate directly with vendors and internal staff to answer basic billing data inquiries and reconcile accounts.
• Demonstrate strong self-direction by asking direct questions to resolve data ambiguities quickly and independently.

Qualifications
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk, Data Entry Specialist, or Accounting Clerk.
• Solid understanding of core finance & accounting procedures, accounts payable workflows, and financial terminology.
• High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration.
• Outstanding organizational habits with high attention to detail in fast-paced data entry tasks.
• Direct and proactive communication style with the willingness to ask questions and take initiative.
• Availability to work on-site in Calgary, Alberta, Monday through Friday.
