Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead contract administration activities throughout the pre- and post-contract lifecycle for complex, high-value projects.
- Develop contract execution strategies and provide commercial and contractual guidance to project teams.
- Review and interpret contract terms, scopes of work, specifications, pricing models, and commercial requirements.
- Serve as a key point of contact for contractual matters with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Manage contract changes, claims, negotiations, disputes, and commercial risks, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Monitor contractor performance related to cost, schedule, quality, deliverables, and contractual compliance.
- Review invoices, progress payments, expenditures, commitments, accruals, and support project forecasting.
- Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, change logs, claims documentation, and commercial reports.
- Build effective relationships with contractors and stakeholders and participate in kickoff, progress, and commercial review meetings.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Contract Administrators and promote consistent contract management practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Law, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Contract Administration, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant contract administration, contract management, procurement, or commercial management experience.
- Experience managing large, complex and high-value contracts within major capital projects.
- Strong experience with both pre-contract and post-contract administration.
- Experience with Target Cost, Fixed Price, Unit Rate, and Time & Material (T&M) contracting models.
- Experience with contract changes, claims management, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Experience in nuclear, power, infrastructure, construction, industrial, or other highly regulated environments is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of contract law, procurement practices, commercial risk, cost management, and contract change control.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities while working effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP, procurement, document management, and contract management systems is considered an asset.
