Job description

Description

As of November 1, 2025, Sunoco LP has successfully completed its acquisition of Parkland Corporation. For more information, please visit www.sunocolp.com.

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 32 countries and territories in North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. The Partnership’s midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline and over 160 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership’s fuel distribution operations, which distribute over 15 billion gallons annually to approximately 11,000 Sunoco and partner-branded retail locations, as well as independent dealers and commercial customers.

At Sunoco, we take great pride in what we do and wholeheartedly believe our employees drive success for our company and our customers. We are always looking for the best and brightest talent and are committed to making your job a challenging and rewarding experience.

Competitive Benefits. Meaningful Extras. Unmatched Value.

  • A place where you can take your career in the direction you want to grow and go

The Opportunity:

The Specialist, Corporate Compliance supports the Office of Ethics and Compliance across the broader Sunoco Partnership, including Energy Transfer and affiliated entities. This position is primarily responsible for supporting Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance activities, including risk assessments, control testing and monitoring, control evaluations and remediation tracking.

The Specialist will also contribute to other Ethics & Compliance initiatives, including privacy compliance, ethics hotline investigations, and training and awareness support.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the broader Ethics and Compliance team across Sunoco, Energy Transfer, and affiliated entities.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance programs, processes and controls.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, process walkthroughs, testing, and monitoring activities to identify compliance risks and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • Document findings and recommendations from compliance reviews and work with business stakeholders to track and support remediation of identified issues.
  • Support investigations involving potential violations of company policies, the Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements, or other compliance concerns.
  • Support privacy compliance initiatives, including policy implementation, risk assessments, data privacy impact assessments, and responses to privacy-related inquiries.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, metrics, and dashboards for management.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders to strengthen compliance processes and controls.
  • Support internal audit activities and contribute to special projects and other ad hoc initiatives as required.
  • Stay informed of evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and compliance best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Possession of a relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA) is considered a strong asset.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in internal or external audit, compliance, internal controls, risk management, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting control testing, process walkthroughs, and documenting business processes, risks and controls.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and remediation processes.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and engage stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
  • Audit and controls experience is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.

Humble. Hungry. Smart. Does this sound like you?

Do others describe you as being a down-to-earth achiever? Someone who thinks outside the box and always strives to do more than what is required? Someone who sees the bigger picture? You sound brilliant to work with!

We Want You To Shine:

We are committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants. If you require accommodation due to a disability, you will have an opportunity to notify us when scheduling your interview.

Belonging Matters. Because You Do:

We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from all qualified individuals. Our ability to work as one team across Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean is foundational to our success. We show up as our authentic selves each day and create space for one another’s unique contributions.

We respect the diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives of Indigenous Peoples and seek to achieve equitable partnerships and opportunities with Indigenous communities.

The Fine Print:

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the country in which they applied. Regrettably, we are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.

Final candidates will be required to undergo a confidential pre-employment background check, including but not limited to educational, criminal, credit, drug and alcohol, and/or fitness for duty testing.
