If you value teamwork, empowerment in your career, and are eager to champion innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, this opportunity just may be for you! **Job Description** The Pipeline Engineering Manager leads pipeline and associated facilities engineering for domestic and international projects from studies and FEED through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup. The role provides technical direction, integrates multidisciplinary teams, manages engineering performance and risk, develops personnel, and delivers safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions aligned with project and client objectives. **Engineering Leadership and Technical Oversight** • Lead engineering for transmission and gathering pipelines, compressor and pump stations, meter and valve stations, terminals, and launcher and receiver facilities. • Provide technical direction and approve key studies, calculations, specifications, design decisions, and deliverables. • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, client requirements, and Fluor work processes while promoting safety, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. **Multi-Discipline Integration and Project Delivery** • Lead integrated teams across pipeline, process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, automation, telecommunications, and construction. • Manage scope and interfaces across disciplines, vendors, contractors, clients, and execution centers, considering constructability, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance. • Develop engineering execution strategies and monitor progress, productivity, budgets, staffing, schedules, changes, and forecasts. **People, Client, and Business Leadership** • Lead, mentor, develop, and retain engineering personnel; support performance management, recruitment, workforce planning, and succession development. • Build a high-performing culture based on accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, continuous learning, and client service. • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project leadership; lead presentations, reviews, workshops, and critical technical discussions. **Construction and Field Support** • Integrate construction, commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance requirements into engineering development. • Lead constructability reviews, field issue resolution, design changes, and engineering support during critical execution phases. • Apply field lessons learned to future designs, standards, and work practices. **Basic Job Requirements** **Education and Experience** • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution, with a Canadian Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation. • 15-20+ years of progressive pipeline and facilities engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading teams and technical execution on complex projects. • Demonstrated delivery experience through studies, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction support in EPC, EPCM, or integrated project environments. **Technical Competencies** • Extensive knowledge of CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, B31.8 and B31.12, API standards, and applicable international pipeline and facilities codes. • Strong expertise in pipeline hydraulics and surge, routing, materials and wall thickness, stress and strain-based design, and integrity management. • Working knowledge of pipeline facilities, constructability, field execution, commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance requirements. **Other Job Requirements** **Preferred Qualifications** **Leadership Competencies** • Leads and develops multidisciplinary teams while balancing technical quality, people leadership, commercial awareness, and project delivery. • Anticipates issues, makes sound decisions, and drives timely resolution in complex, fast-paced environments. • Influences stakeholders, manages competing priorities, and maintains accountability for project and organizational objectives. **Communication Skills** • Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Communicates complex technical and business matters clearly with clients, contractors, project teams, and executive leadership. **Success Profile** • Leads integrated pipeline and facilities teams with strong technical credibility and clear accountability. • Balances safety, quality, cost, schedule, constructability, operations, and client objectives in engineering decisions. • Proactively resolves technical, organizational, and execution challenges before project performance is affected. Compressed work schedule: The Fluor Canada offices work a compressed work schedule offering every second Friday off. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
