Job Overview
The Spare Parts Sales Representative reports to headquarters at Delta, Canada and the position can be located in Bristish Columbia, CA or Lousiana, US, and is responsible for quoting and processing sales orders for manufactured and purchased spare parts. Working closely with customers and internal teams, the role requires interpreting blueprints and bills of material (BOMs), defining scope, and establishing lead times. The successful candidate will proactively develop customer relationships, identify new sales opportunities, communicate order status and delays, and anticipate future customer needs. This is a full-time, on-site position in Delta, BC or Monroe, LA, reporting to the VP of Operations.
In this role you
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Respond promptly to customer spare parts inquiries and requests for quotation (RFQs).
- Review customer requirements and identify the correct replacement or alternative parts.
- Prepare accurate quotations for manufactured and purchased components.
- Enter and manage sales orders within the company's ERP system (D365).
- Confirm pricing, availability, and lead times with internal departments and suppliers.
- Follow up on open quotations to maximize conversion rates.
- Serve as the primary customer contact from quotation through order fulfillment.
Technical Review
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, assemblies, and technical documentation.
- Read and understand Bills of Material (BOMs) to identify part requirements and configurations.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to clarify specifications and scope.
- Verify technical details to ensure accurate quotations and order processing.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts.
- Schedule and conduct regular customer meetings.
- Identify opportunities to increase spare parts sales and promote additional company products and services.
- Proactively pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts.
Order Management & Communication
- Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, and planning teams to monitor order status.
- Communicate order progress, lead times, and delivery commitments to customers.
- Proactively identify and communicate delays, risks, or changes affecting customer orders.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor market trends and customer purchasing patterns.
- Contribute to improving quotation processes, customer service, and aftermarket sales growth.
- Support company initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and retention.
To succeed in this role, you should have
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Attributes
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, customer service, aftermarket sales, spare parts sales, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems is an asset.
- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, machinery, or engineered products customers is preferred.
