Reporting to the Manufacturing Production Support Manager, the Production Planner - Manufacturing Technologist will play a key role in supporting production operations at Raute Canada’s manufacturing facility in Delta, BC. In this position, this role will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and preparing production work orders and procurement packages to ensure efficient and accurate manufacturing processes.
In this role you
- Provide a key link between production and engineering.
- Review and process work packages from engineering, including drawings, bills of material and DXF.
- Print and prepare travelers and drawings to production and verify that all work-instructions are available.
- Redline drawings and add notes if required.
- Prepare package for procurement.
- Identify when subcontracting is required to increase efficiency and maintain schedule.
- Provide detailed work status reports (verbal and written) to the manufacturing group/ project team.
- Drive good manufacturing practices through the development of initiatives to improve production processes and performance.
To succeed in this role, you should have
- Graduate of a 2-year technology program, such as BCIT’s Mechanical Technology Diploma (manufacturing option) or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
- Experience or familiarity with a variety of fabrication and machining equipment is an asset.
- Experience or familiarity with burn, waterjet or laser-cut processes.
- Strong computer skills (Auto-CAD, pack office).
- Experience with ERP systems would be an asset.
- A valid Canadian Passport and Driver’s License is required.
