The successful candidate
will provide approximately 2 hours of Braille support each day, with the remainder of the day working as an Educational Assistant. Depending on the candidate’s experience and student needs, the EA role may involve supporting students in a classroom or within our Foundations Program. Braille experience and EA experience are assets. Desirable qualifications and attributes:Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent education is an assetBraille experience and training is an assetComfortable with both specialized and inclusive programsExperience or training in supporting children with diverse and complex needs or behaviours is preferredCompassionate, patient, and committed to creating a positive learning environmentAble to work both independently and as part of a supportive teamStrong problem-solving skills Comfortable assisting students with personal care needs, including toileting and lifting as required For more information about the Red Deer Public School District, visit our website at: This competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found and will close without notice once a shortlist has been selected.
