JOB POSTING Full Time Permanent Position Job ID: 2026-110 Counsellor Full-Time Permanent Position at 1.0 FTE (35 hours/week) Bargaining Unit - UFCW Local 175 Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre

(PQWCHC) is a dynamic, community-based health care organization serving mid-west downtown Toronto. Offering a broad range of services, including primary health care, dental care, harm reduction, health promotion, counselling, and community development programming, we are also committed to serving people who face barriers to health care, and we strive to reduce these barriers. PQWCHC is a multi-sited organization. Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health Services, you will provide short term clinical counselling and occasional case management to address the mental health needs and social determinants of health for marginalized clients. You will work with individuals over the age of 16, including members of marginalized communities. Consistent with your training and experience, you will conduct therapeutic assessments and provide appropriate treatment based on your case formulation using a trauma-informed approach and evidence-based modalities. You will also develop and implement therapeutic groups based on client need. Based on the needs identified within our client population, candidates who meet any of the following criteria will be prioritized: fluency in Spanish, demonstrated skill in couple’s counselling and/or expertise in perinatal mental health. As a Mental Health team member, you will participate in clinical supervision and agency meetings. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining timely and appropriate electronic documentation and participation in the overall activities of the Health Centre (training, committees, special events, etc.). Leveraging your experience, you will also work with other service providers to address gaps in service or required services and liaise with community agencies and institutions regarding issues relevant to client needs. This position will require working from multiple locations based on the organization’s operational needs. Qualifications: Graduate degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university. Member in good standing with the OCSWSSW or CRPO. Three to five years of counselling experience, preferably in a community health setting. Proficiency in mental health assessment and counseling techniques that are trauma-informed and evidence based. Experience in development and delivery of therapeutic groups. Experience in couples’ counselling is an asset. Knowledge and experience working in perinatal mental health is an asset. Experience in couples’ counselling is an asset. Experience working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ and/or racialized populations. Experience providing support or treatment to adults with significant mental health/trauma/substance use challenges. Formal training and experience with a variety of responsive treatment interventions (e.g., brief therapy, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing techniques, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications. Proficiency in another language is considered an asset. Ability to deliver service in Spanish is a strong asset. Compensation:

$69,599 - $81,343 per annum, plus Group Benefits and HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan). Job ID: 2026-110 Please also note that the successful candidate will be required to provide a police vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment, however strong consideration is made to the type of offense. Employment is conditional upon having had a full series of COVID-19 vaccinations (2 doses, plus a booster within the past 6-12 months) 14 days before starting employment.
