Yes POSITION DESCRIPTION The Department of Immunology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Immunology and graduate education development. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have earned a PhD degree in Immunology by the time of appointment, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and mentorship, particularly in graduate education. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths . Candidates must have teaching experience in teaching and administration/management in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, program design, curriculum development, and development of material/lectures at the graduate level . Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in graduate education teaching-related scholarly activities and focus on student academic progress and well-being. Evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, awards and accolades, presentations at significant conferences, the teaching dossier (including the required materials outlined below), and strong letters of reference. RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be assigned a teaching and service load. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the Admissions and Awards committees and developing and implementing effective processes to support admissions and awards operations. Faculty are expected to integrate their disciplinary expertise with best practices in teaching to create inclusive, engaging, and research-informed learning environments that support student success and inspire the next generation of immunologists. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the academic life of the department through service activities such as academic advising, program development, and participation in departmental initiatives. This is an exciting time to join the Department of Immunology, as we continue to expand and enrich our graduate programs, while advancing our mission to improve lives through scientific discovery and education. HIRING SALARY RANGE The salary range is 113,300-$125,000 per annum, depending on experience . Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. The Department of Immunology’s graduate curriculum includes courses that span foundational to advanced topics in immunology.
