Salesforce Developer (Intermediate)

At Gotcare, we're scaling our CRM that supports the operations of our person-directed care model. This CRM is the system of record for care funding allocations, approved spending, care hours, invoices and claims, reconciliation, and the statements clients and funders rely on to see where things stand. It's a custom application on Salesforce, not an off-the-shelf configuration: custom objects, a data model that holds up to real financial and clinical scrutiny, and purpose-built UI for care coordinators. The initial build started 8 years ago with external vendor support, and now we're bringing parts of it in house. You'd be picking up a working system with real users and real history, deciding what to keep, what to rework, and how it should grow from here. We're looking for an intermediate Salesforce developer to take that on. You'll write Apex and Lightning Web Components, shape the data model, and work directly with the engineers maintaining our NestJS services on AWS. If you like being the person who connects the CRM to the rest of the system rather than living only inside the Salesforce console, this is that role. We operate in a regulated healthcare environment (PHIA) with Canadian data residency requirements, and we're handling funding that people depend on. Building carefully matters here. What you'll do

Extend and refine the custom objects, fields, relationships, and sharing rules that model funding allocations, budgets, spending, and claims Take ownership of existing vendor-built components: understand them, document them, and improve them where they need it Develop Lightning Web Components and custom UI, including budget dashboards, spend breakdowns, and approval flows, used daily by clients, care workers, and funding partners Write Apex for budget calculations, spending rules, reconciliation logic, and scheduled jobs, with proper test coverage and bulk-safe patterns Enhance and maintain integrations between Salesforce and our NestJS backend (REST APIs, platform events, webhooks), including the transformation layer that keeps the two data models decoupled Make sure data is auditable: history tracking, reconciliation, and the reporting funders and partners need Work with declarative tooling (Flow, validation rules) where it's the right answer, and know when it isn't Own deployment: source-driven development with SFDX, version control in GitHub, CI/CD pipelines Contribute to data quality, access control, and privacy requirements in a PHIA-regulated environment Document what you build so the next person can pick it up What we're looking for

Required

2 to 4 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including production Apex and Lightning Web Components Strong grasp of the Salesforce data model, security and sharing model, and governor limits Experience building and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs and integrating Salesforce with external systems Working knowledge of Git and GitHub-based workflows (branching, pull requests, code review) Comfortable reading and reasoning about a TypeScript/Node backend. You don't need to own our NestJS services, but you need to be able to work alongside them Familiarity with AWS fundamentals (IAM, API Gateway, Lambda, S3 or similar) Care and precision when working with financial data. You understand why a rounding error or a missing audit trail is a real problem, not a cosmetic one Clear written communication, since much of our engineering context lives in documentation Nice to have

Salesforce Certified Platform Developer (PD1); Platform Developer II is a strong plus Platform App Builder or Administrator certification Experience with SFDX, scratch orgs, and automated deployment Experience inheriting or untangling an org built by someone else, whether a vendor, a consultancy, or a predecessor Experience with budgeting, billing, claims, or ledger-style data models Background in healthcare, home care, disability services, or another regulated industry (PHIA, PIPEDA, SOC 2, PHIPA) Experience with PostgreSQL and event-driven architecture Our stack

Gotcare is a Canadian social enterprise reimagining how care gets delivered in the home. We work with people aging at home, recovering from injury, and living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, alongside the case managers, insurers, and families supporting them. The through-line is control: care that adapts to how someone actually lives, rather than rigid pre-set blocks of time. Individualized funding is the sharpest version of that idea. When a client manages their own budget, the software either gives them genuine control or quietly takes it away through bad defaults and opaque numbers. This work is where that gets decided, and you'd be the person contributing to the change. We're also serious about the other side of the equation.
