Provost & VP Academic

is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term

Coordinator, Indigenous Strategy Implementation

for approximately 2 years.

The Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager (Indigenous Engagement) and works closely with other members of the Office of Indigenous Engagement and Working Circle co-chairs on specific projects. Working independently, the incumbent will provide support for several projects related to the implementation of the Indigenous Strategy.

Primarily, the Coordinator will be involved with the compiling of information related to Working Circle activity, coordinating and tracking Indigenous Strategy Working Circles tasks and associated Task Forces, working on projects and logistical support for the Working Circles' meetings and tasks, contributing to the planning and execution of special events hosted or co-hosted, and coordination of the volunteer program in the Office of Indigenous Engagement.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Under minimal supervision and direction of the Operations Manager, and Working Circle co-chairs, identify opportunities for program initiatives.

Ensure Working Circle notes and data are securely and appropriately stored on Teams and shared drive, and that it can be retrieved in a consistent and organized fashion.

Collaborate regularly and closely with members to prepare for and support Working Circle meetings, tasks, and project activities.

Provide program assistance to the OIE Team members as requested or required for intercultural capacity program offerings and grant competitions.

Provide support with Enterprise Learning Management system as well as micro-credentials to track intercultural capacity programming and learning.

Oversee and manage a volunteer program for the Office of Indigenous Engagement using Better Impact.

Support Working Circles and associated Task Forces to meet deadlines to ensure project continues to progress on schedule.

Maintain the Guiding Circle and associated Working Circle online records and updated memberships on MS teams, and other shared drives.

Preparation and support for all Working Circle meetings, including scheduling, agendas, maintain notes and tracking progression on Working Circle tasks.

Assist with the production, preparation, proofreading, and editing of annual reports, membership, and goal setting of the Working Circles.

Assist the Indigenous Strategy Data Analyst in gathering and compiling data for the Indigenous Strategy annual report.

Support special events, workshops, and webinars hosted or co-hosted by the Office of Indigenous Engagement upon request.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

3-5 years of related experience working on projects related to Indigenous education.

Knowledge of Indigenous peoples, cultures, and histories, particularly in relation to education and research.

Experience working with Indigenous programs, communities or with Indigenous peoples.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and PeopleSoft programs (such as Enterprise Learning Management, Finance) and Better Impact.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Adaptable and able to manage multiple projects.

Excellent organizational and time management skills that enable the ability to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Self-directed; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
