Job description
Senior French Language Services (FLS) Specialist (12 months contract) We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to provide expert adaptation, editing, proofreading, translation, harmonization and final signoff of OLG’s public-facing French materials. The role ensures consistency of French materials and messaging through OLG’s multi platforms and that all French materials are accurately and correctly presented and offer the same message as the English versions. The role is accountable for accuracy of thousands of OLG’s French public-facing touchpoints per year.

Range: 66,400.00 - 99,600.00 CAD

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME Reporting to the Senior Manager French Language Services, you will be empowered to:

Review, research, assess, and adjust the work of French translation agencies and translate text as required, ensure that all aspects of style, grammar, spelling, tone, consistency, interpretation, terminology, and content accuracy are maintained at the highest level of excellence as per established editorial standards, OLG’s business and legislated requirements

Proofread, review, edit, and approve a large volume of designed/creative material in digital or print format for OLG business lines covering a wide range of products and issues keeping established service protocols and meet converging client deadlines

Test and validate French content

Assist the Senior Manager FLS in developing and maintaining high-quality FLS services in accordance with OLG’s French Language Services Policy and in part through proactive monitoring of the delivery of such services to consumers and other stakeholders

Lead the rollout of a Translation Management System (TMS) including FlowFit online form and MemoQ translation memory or similar CAT tools. Develop and maintain term base with approved translations. Resolve issues with IT related to access, speed and security. Manage back end and administration of FlowFit.

Provide backup for the admin role as needed to ensure business continuity

Provide subject matter expertise (SME) back-up for Senior Manager FLS regarding OLG’s French Language Services Policy and the French Languages Services Act as appropriate, providing OLG business lines with advice aligned with regulatory compliance and adherence to the OLG FLS Policy

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME

Post-secondary degree in French studies with a specialization in French translation or editing

3+ years' experience in French translation, proofreading and/or editing.

Proficient in various software including Translation Management Systems (TMS)--FlowFit online form and MemoQ translation memory as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Experience Manager.

Relevant Skills

Expert oral and written fluency in French, with a specialization in French copy editing.

Expert English in order to understand subtleties of English in all contexts

Expert ability to edit and translate text from English to French and French to English

Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Spécialiste principal, Services en français Nous sommes prêts à passer au niveau suivant et sommes à la recherche d’une personne passionnée qui sera chargée d’apporter son savoir-faire à l’adaptation, la révision, la correction d’épreuves, la traduction, l’harmonisation et l’approbation finale des documents français d’OLG destinés au public. Elle s’assurera que les communications et les documents français sont uniformes dans les multiples plateformes d’OLG et que tout le matériel français est précis, bien présenté et transmet le même message que les versions anglaises. Elle sera aussi responsable de la justesse de milliers de points de contact français d’OLG destinés au public par an.

VOTRE RÔLE DANS LE JEU

Réviser, examiner, évaluer et ajuster le travail des agences de traduction en français et traduire des textes au besoin, en maintenant à un très haut degré d’excellence tous les éléments de style, de grammaire, d’orthographe, de ton, d’uniformité, d’interprétation, de terminologie et de précision de contenu, conformément aux normes éditoriales et aux exigences opérationnelles d’OLG et législatives établies.

Corriger les épreuves, réviser, mettre en page et approuver une quantité importante de matériel conçu par l’équipe créative en format numérique ou imprimé pour les secteurs d’activités d’OLG qui couvrent un grand éventail de produits et d’enjeux, conformément aux protocoles établis en matière de services et aux échéances convergentes des clients.

Tester et valider le contenu en français.

Soutenir le chef principal, Services en français dans le développement et le maintien de services en français de haute qualité, conformément à la Politique sur les services en français d’OLG, et, en partie, par la surveillance proactive de la prestation de ces services auprès des consommateurs et autres parties prenantes.

Diriger le déploiement d’un système de gestion des traductions (TMS), y compris le formulaire en ligne FlowFit et la mémoire de traduction memoQ ou d’autres outils de TAO similaires. Développer et maintenir une base terminologique contenant les traductions approuvées. Résoudre, avec l’équipe TI, les problèmes liés aux accès, à la performance et à la sécurité. Assurer la gestion de l’arrière‑plan technique ainsi que l’administration de FlowFit.

Offrir du soutien au rôle d’administrateur pour assurer la continuité des affaires, le cas échéant.

Fournir des conseils d’expert à la place du chef principal, Services en français, au besoin, à propos de la politique sur les services en français d’OLG et de la Loi sur les services en français, s’il y a lieu, en donnant des recommandations conformes à la réglementation et qui respectent la politique sur les services en français d’OLG aux secteurs d’activités de l’entreprise.

CE QUE VOUS APPORTEZ AU JEU

Diplôme d’études postsecondaires en études françaises avec une spécialisation en traduction vers le français ou en révision.

Posséder au moins 3 ans d’expérience en traduction vers le français, correction d’épreuves ou révision.

Maîtriser plusieurs logiciels notamment les systèmes de gestion des traductions (TMS), tels que le formulaire en ligne FlowFit et la mémoire de traduction memoQ, ainsi que Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat et Adobe Experience Manager.

Compétences Requises

Maîtriser le français oral et écrit avec une spécialisation en révision de textes en français.

Maîtriser l’anglais pour comprendre les subtilités de l’anglais dans tous les contextes.

Excellente capacité à réviser et à traduire des textes de l’anglais au français et du français à l’anglais.
