Analyst - Project Development

The Role We're looking for a high-calibre project development analyst who pairs financial analysis with strong project management and can help move emerging clean infrastructure projects from concept toward bankability, financing, and execution readiness across North America.

This is a hands-on analyst role. You'll be a core member of our project development team, working across technical, financial, commercial, and stakeholder-facing workstreams. You'll support Project Development Directors on active projects — building decision-quality analyses, pressure-testing assumptions, and keeping critical development activities moving.

The role suits someone who wants steep, hands-on exposure to real project development, real counterparties, and real commercial decision-making in first-of-a-kind and early commercial clean infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Support Project Development Directors across all facets of a project — contributing to technical, commercial, financial, and social workstreams, while creating and managing the project development toolkit.

Build initial permitting roadmaps from scratch, bring in external consultants to fill the gaps, and then manage the permitting process on behalf of our clients — mapping the path to approval and keeping it on track.

Support evaluation of project configuration options, development pathways, and strategic trade-offs across site, utilities, commercial structure, contracting, and capital stack.

Support diligence on engineering firms, vendors, offtake pathways, feedstock and utility strategies, and project delivery approaches.

Research and assess markets, regulatory drivers, incentives, carbon value, product positioning, and comparable project data to inform development strategy.

Prepare clear, decision-useful materials for internal leadership, clients, investors, partners, and other counterparties.

Manage and maintain project financial models — running scenario analyses and sensitivities to support project development and capital planning.

Run project management across development workstreams — building and maintaining schedules, tracking critical path and deliverables, coordinating consultants and vendors, and driving the cadence of internal and client check-ins.

Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and key project risks early — then work through solutions rather than waiting for direction.

What You’ll Bring

3–6 years of relevant experience across areas such as project development, project finance, infrastructure advisory, or energy transition deployment.

Strong financial and commercial analysis skills, paired with the project management discipline to keep multiple workstreams, consultants, and deadlines on track.

Direct experience with permitting and regulatory approvals on infrastructure or energy projects — you have run or supported a permitting process before.

Enough technical fluency to work credibly with engineers and vendors and translate their inputs into commercial terms — deep engineering expertise is not required.

A high-ownership mindset: you figure things out, advance work independently, and bring solutions, not just questions.

Sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving situations, with the ability to structure messy information, simplify complex issues, and communicate clearly.

Comfort working alongside a senior, high-performing team and contributing at a consistently high standard.

An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, environmental or applied science, or a similarly rigorous discipline; an advanced degree is valued but not required.

Advanced Excel and modeling capability; comfort working with data, assumptions, and presentation materials at a high level.

Project development experience with emerging or first-of-a-kind (FOAK) technology — ideally in waste-to-value, hydrogen, low-carbon fuels, or circular systems — is a strong plus.
