Help Shape the Future of Nursing and Midwifery Regulation in Nova Scotia

The Nova Scotia Nursing and Midwifery Regulator (NSNMR) protects the public by regulating licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, nurse practitioners, and registered midwives across Nova Scotia. As the largest health profession regulator in Atlantic Canada, NSNMR is entering a pivotal stage in its evolution building on the transition to the Regulated Health Professions Act and the integration of nursing and midwifery regulation, the organization is focused on strengthening its operational foundations, modernizing systems and processes, advancing data-informed decision making, and positioning itself as a leading regulator within the region. To help drive this transformation, NSNMR is seeking a Senior Director, Corporate Services. This role offers a unique opportunity for a strategic forward-thinking leader to shape organizational strategy, lead enterprise-wide improvements, and build the systems, processes and capabilities that will support NSNMR's long-term success and public protection mandate while advancing regulatory excellence. The Role

Reporting to the CEO & Registrar, the Senior Director, Corporate Services is a key member of the executive leadership team and serves as the senior leader responsible for the organization's corporate services portfolio, including finance, human resources, data and digital solutions, information technology, customer experience, procurement, and corporate operations. This strategic role is central to advancing the organization's modernization and growth agenda. Working closely with the executive team and Board, the Senior Director will help shape organizational strategy, strengthen corporate-wide capabilities, and lead transformative business, technology, and operational initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO & Registrar, the Senior Director, Corporate Services will be responsible for: Providing strategic leadership and oversight for finance, human resources, data and digital solutions, information technology, customer experience, procurement, and corporate operations. Leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, modernize systems and processes, and support NSNMR's strategic priorities. Advancing the organization's digital, technology, and data capabilities to support evidence-informed decision making, improved stakeholder service, and long-term organizational sustainability. Supporting the evolution of organizational planning, performance measurement, risk management, and resource allocation frameworks. Building and leading high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and psychologically healthy workplace culture. Serving as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO & Registrar, executive leadership team, and Board on emerging trends, organizational priorities, and operational risks and opportunities. Strengthening relationships with regulators, government partners, healthcare stakeholders, and external service providers to advance shared objectives and organizational effectiveness. Leading organizational change with a thoughtful, people-centered approach that builds trust, engagement, and readiness for the future. Ideal Candidate Profile

As the ideal candidate, you are a strategic and forward-thinking leader with experience overseeing corporate services functions in a complex environment. You bring demonstrated success overseeing areas such as operations, technology, data and analytics, human resources, finance, customer experience, or related functions while aligning these services with broader organizational objectives. Experience within healthcare, regulation, the public sector, or other highly regulated multi-partner environments is considered an asset. You are a builder and change leader who thrives on modernizing systems strengthening organizational capabilities and driving continuous improvement. You have successfully led change initiatives and organizational transformation efforts, balancing strategic vision with practical execution. You know how to establish frameworks, improve processes, and help organizations evolve without losing sight of the people impacted by change. With strong business and operational acumen, you understand how corporate services functions enable organizational performance. You are adept at navigating complexity, leveraging data to inform decisions, and leading enterprise-wide initiatives involving digital transformation, technology modernization, and process improvement. You are an exceptional, influential and trusted relationship builder and you communicate with clarity, credibility, and empathy. You excel at bringing diverse stakeholders together around a common vision.
