Our client is a well-established and highly regarded global manufacturing organization seeking an experienced payroll professional to join its finance/payroll function in a pivotal leadership role. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on payroll leader who combines strong technical expertise with a process-improvement mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-jurisdiction environment.

Location

Position

Description

The Manager, Payroll will play a central role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across multiple regions, while also supporting key systems and integration initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting full-cycle payroll activities across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., including payroll review, processing, balancing, controls, compliance, and year-end reporting.
  • Managing payroll-related accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany allocations, and general ledger coordination, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal controls.
  • Supporting payroll compliance, audit readiness, issue resolution, and responses to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Assisting with benefits cost analysis, renewals, budgeting, and forecasting activities tied to payroll and related programs.
  • Supporting payroll, time tracking, and expense-related systems initiatives, including integrations, testing, data validation, mapping, documentation, implementation support, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with finance, HR, systems, and operational stakeholders to improve reporting, streamline processes, and strengthen payroll delivery.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and solutions-driven payroll professional with strong multinational experience and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting. Ideal qualifications include:

  • University degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • PCP or PLP designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience within a multinational organization.
  • Strong, current knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and tax requirements, with additional exposure to U.S. and U.K. payroll environments.
  • Experience supporting payroll compliance, reconciliations, controls, audits, and payroll-related financial processes.
  • Familiarity with payroll and enterprise systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, and expense platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel capability, strong analytical skills, excellent judgment, and a high level of discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and across local, regional, and global teams.

Why Join This Company

This is an opportunity to join a respected global organization in a role with meaningful visibility and impact. The position offers the chance to contribute both operationally and strategically—supporting core payroll delivery while also participating in systems enhancements, integration initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. It is an excellent fit for a payroll professional looking to broaden scope, deepen international exposure, and join a collaborative, high-performing environment.
