Position Summary

Interior Health (IH) is looking for an experienced, highly efficient and self-directed permanent full time Coordinator, Population Health Planning and Epidemiology to support the Director, Population Health, Planning and Epidemiology. This position is located at the Community Health & Services Centre in beautiful Kelowna, B.C. What we offer:

The salary range for this position is $58,494 (min) to $73,117 (midpoint) to $76,773 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees. What will you work on?

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Coordinator is accountable for overseeing the overall administrative and coordination of planning and operations of the Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) Portfolio. Reporting directly to the Director, Population Health, Planning and Epidemiology, the Coordinator plays an essential role in the coordination of student placements and administrative functions of the CMHO portfolio. Typical duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates and supports CMHO programs pertaining to communications, documentation, information, and planning. Provides project management support to the CMHO Portfolio including the development and publication of reports; facilitates day-to-day operations of the CMHO Portfolio. Coordinates student placements within the MHO team and Population Health, Planning and Epidemiology. Acts as primary contact for academic institutes and students to determine partner priorities for information about student placement and academic development; recommends appropriate communication activities and tools; forwards recommendations to appropriate groups. Acts as a liaison between the CMHO Portfolio and internal/external personnel, partners, and offices. Communicates directly with staff, clients, and the public at large; engages in a fashion that meets the needs of the project at hand, strategic goals and objectives, and the general workflow of both statutory and non-statutory activities. Provides confidential administrative support to the CMHO Portfolio senior leaders, coordinating and organizing meetings, managing calendars and workflow, determining priorities, receiving and acknowledging correspondence, and preparing both statutory and non-statutory correspondence for signature; responds to or redirects internal and external enquiries in a confidential manner; types a variety of confidential correspondence, including letters, memoranda, minutes, presentations and reports; sorts and distributes correspondence as required. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall always adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualfications

Education, Training, and Experience

Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent. Three to five years of recent, related experience, preferably working in a complex healthcare environment, including two years’ experience in a senior administrative capacity An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Skills and Abilities

Ability to successfully manage business, administration, and HR functions. Ability to lead, coach, and implement change in a dynamic organizational environment. Ability to communicate effectively interpersonally, verbally, and in writing with staff, clients, and the public at large. Ability to organize and direct workload and set priorities in a diverse work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat. Proficiency in web-based searches; given key search words and phrases, to complete basic literature searches for projects. Ability to manage, code, and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information including documents and data. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as it pertains to several different Statutes and Regulations (PIPA, FOIPPA, CCALA, PHA, HPA, etc.). Ability to function independently and as a member of a team exercising sound judgment skills. A Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
