Job description

Successful change doesn't happen because someone announces it. It happens when people understand it, believe in it, and know how to put it into practice.

Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with Technical Safety BC in their search for a Business Partner, Change.

This is an opportunity to join a newly established Change Leadership team that's helping shape one of British Columbia's largest enterprise transformation initiatives. Working alongside business leaders, project teams, and stakeholders across the organization, you'll design and implement change strategies that help people successfully adopt new systems, processes, and ways of working.

If you enjoy bringing structure to complex initiatives, building strong relationships, and helping organizations navigate change, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across the province.

What You'll Do

  • Develop change strategies and implementation plans that support complex business transformation initiatives
  • Assess organizational impacts, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Build readiness plans that help teams successfully adopt new processes and systems
  • Monitor progress, measure adoption, and adjust strategies based on feedback and results

Partner with leaders across the organization

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders and project teams
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
  • Help leaders communicate the purpose, impact, and benefits of change
  • Build alignment across multiple business groups to ensure successful implementation

Drive project success

  • Develop integrated change plans, timelines, milestones, and reporting
  • Coordinate communications, engagement activities, training, and reinforcement plans
  • Support large-scale transformation initiatives from planning through implementation
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen change management practices

What You Bring

  • Experience leading organizational change, business transformation, or process improvement initiatives
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience assessing business impacts, identifying risks, and developing change plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience developing business documentation such as business cases, policies, SOPs, user guides, or reports
  • Experience working within complex, cross-functional organizations

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • A degree in Business or a related discipline, plus 2-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and 5-7 years of directly related experience
  • Experience with business analysis, process improvement, or organizational change methodologies
  • Familiarity with Agile project environments, Jira, or similar project management tools

The Details

  • $78,600-$106,400 annual salary
  • Annual step increases plus negotiated annual wage increases
  • Comprehensive health, dental and disability benefits
  • Defined benefit pension plan (BCGEU)
  • 3 weeks' vacation to start
  • Hybrid work environment (2 days/week in office)
  • Up to $1,500 annually toward learning and development
  • Dedicated mental health benefit plus Employee & Family Assistance Program
  • Vancouver, Victoria, or Kelowna preferred (occasional travel within BC)

Why Technical Safety BC?

Technical Safety BC plays a vital role in protecting public safety across British Columbia by overseeing the safe installation and operation of technical systems throughout the province. It is currently engaged in a multi-year enterprise transformation that's modernizing systems, improving services, and changing how it supports customers and employees. This role is an opportunity to help make that transformation successful.

Beyond meaningful work, you'll join an organization known for its collaborative culture, commitment to work-life balance, flexible hybrid work environment, and investment in employee development and well-being.

If you're excited by the opportunity to help people successfully navigate change while contributing to a province-wide transformation, we'd love to hear from you.

Submit your application through Smart, Savvy + Associates' job board. Every application is reviewed by a human, thoughtfully and with care.
