The Chapman Group is assisting its client, the Fredericton Community Kitchens, in recruiting for an Executive Director to lead the organization. For over 30 years, Fredericton Community Kitchens has provided compassionate service and nutritious meals to those experiencing food insecurity in our community. They are a registered charity that relies on dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners to carry out their mission of feeding the hungry in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Responsibilities The Executive Director is responsible for maintaining a proactive stance, ensuring program safety and stability, supporting staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors and community partners in alignment with their mission, vision, and values. Rooted in its mission to provide nutritious food and foster community, the Kitchens envisions a future where everyone has access to good quality food and understands the impact of food insecurity. Strategic Leadership & Advocacy Provide visionary leadership to advance the mission of the Fredericton Community Kitchens. Develop, implement and maintain strategic initiatives that support education and advocacy. Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, building its profile and influence. Advocate for policies and programs that help individuals overcome barriers to success. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure the safety of all guests, staff, and volunteers in consultation with the Kitchen Manager, staff, and security. Oversee the safety of all staff and volunteers in consultation with the Kitchen Manager, staff, and security. Maintain open communication with property partners (The Shelters, the Resource Centre, Mental Health & Addictions, DTI, etc.) to ensure a safe and secure environment. Ensure compliance with WorkSafe NB requirements for workplace safety. Partnership Development & Community Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Facilitate conversations and initiatives that drive long-term systemic change. Resource Development & Fundraising Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and donations. Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Program Development & Oversight Sponsor and support projects that align with the organization's mission and goals. Provide guidance and oversight on program development, implementation, and evaluation. Ensure that initiatives effectively address the needs of the community and drive measurable outcomes. Organizational Management & Governance Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute the organization\'s strategic plan. Provide regular updates to the Board on progress, challenges, and opportunities. Manage financial operations, including budgeting and reporting. Manage and facilitate weekly, monthly and annual meetings; IE staff, volunteer, and partnership meetings, preparation and coordination of the annual board meeting. Medi ate conflicts in accordance with HR policies, consulting the HR Committee as required. Qualifications Proven progressive experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, or a related field. Strategic thinker with the ability to execute plans effectively, to lead a large community strategy and volunteer network. Nonprofit management experience including budgeting, program development, proposal writing, fundraising and supporting a Board of Directors. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and engage diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including strong presentation and conflict management skills. Passion for social impact. Competency with appropriate computer-based applications. Familiarity with WorkSafe NB, food banking standards, and HR policies is considered an asset.
