Job descriptionAcero Engineering Inc. ("Acero"), a dynamic company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise to the Oil and Gas industry is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a role as a Controls Engineer/Technician. Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services and construction management. Responsibilities: * Redline and/or generate all design delivery documents such as instrument alarm & setting lists, cause & effect diagrams, I/O assignments, and other controls documentation. * Prepare Control Narrative & Control Philosophies. * Update cause & effect diagram, alarm & setting lists to reflect additional control scope. * Redline and update P&IDs to incorporate control logic changes. * Redline engineering drawings to incorporate construction changes, including P&IDs, Control Narratives, cause & effect diagrams, shutdown keys, and other controls-related documents. * Review and approve Requests for Information (RFIs) and process Field Design Notices (FDNs). * Generate and process Management of Changes (MOC) per construction requirements. * Coordinate and manage controls-related subcontractors, including PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI development, as required. * Communicate with Client and 3rd party Controls personnel. * Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required. Required Education, Experience and Skills: * Minimum of 6 years as a Controls Engineer/Technician in Oil and Gas Facilities in Western Canada. * Field experience is an asset. * Strong ability to navigate P&IDs, especially process control systems, is required. * Proficient working knowledge of CEC, standards, specs, and Regulations would be an advantage. * Understanding and working effectively with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Bluebeam. * Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills. * Strong written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills. * Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients.
