We are currently recruiting for a Automation Technician to support the development and piloting of novel chemical processes and small lots manufacturing at Qnity’s (formerly DuPont’s) Kingston Research Facility. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Kingston, Ontario. Responsibilities

Provide onsite operations and maintenance support to ensure reliable system performance, including troubleshooting, fieldwork, commissioning assistance, control-system checkout, and occasional after-hours support. Ensure vendor-engineered and internally designed systems meet Qnity requirements, are maintainable by site personnel, and include appropriate certifications for the intended application, including hazardous-area use where required. Work collaboratively with Process Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Process Development Scientists, Process Technicians, Maintenance Personnel, and construction teams during project execution. Create and implement control-system schemes and participate in Process Hazards Analysis and Management of Change processes led by Process Engineers. Prepare Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), electrical schematics for control systems, panel layouts, installation details, location drawings, and conduit and cabling diagrams using AutoCAD. Develop HMI, data-logging, alarming, and PLC programs for continuous and discrete chemical-process control using Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk and Studio 5000 platforms. Select PLC hardware and supporting control-system components, configure Ethernet/IP networks, and work with Process Engineers to specify instrumentation such as pressure, flow, and temperature transmitters and temperature elements. Manage multiple small projects while responding to ongoing maintenance and operational priorities. What You Will Bring

Technical and Industry Experience: At least two years of relevant experience preferred. Relevant hardware experience includes Allen-Bradley PLC hardware, Allen-Bradley Ethernet/IP devices and switches, wire and cable, power supplies, and other control-system components. Relevant software experience includes AutoCAD 2D, Rockwell Automation ControlLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE/ME HMI, PlantPAx process-control framework, and Visual Basic programming. Required
