Job description
Position Summary Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a champion with management and leadership experience to join Rotary Manor.

In accordance with the established vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the long-term care or acute care settings with the support of the Manager or designate. The Assistant Manager is accountable in the planning, coordination, development, implementation, evaluation, and administration of long-term care/acute care services. The incumbent supervises staff as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff, and in the counseling and education of families. Reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures, standards of care, staffing levels and a continuous quality improvement environment. The Assistant Manager liaises with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate, identify and efficiently utilize resources.

The salary range for this position is $90,770 (min) to $113,462 (midpoint) to $130,481 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Northern Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

Qualfications

A degree in a health-related discipline, Business, HR, Disability Management, Workplace Health & Safety, Finance plus three (3) to five (5) years of recent related health care experience.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy and social justice concerns.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written and computer communication means.

Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively.

Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well-being.

Demonstrated ability to guide individuals and groups while maintaining group cohesion, motivation, commitment, and effectiveness.

Demonstrated ability to effectively introduce and manage change that is consistent with the vision, purpose, and operating principles of Northern Health.

Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate programs.

Excellent negotiation skills to relate effectively with clients, medical staff, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
