Press Control+M to start dragging object Business 1220E, a first-year introductory survey course, gives students from all faculties the opportunity to learn business fundamentals in finance, marketing, operations, organizational behavior and general management. This essay course will be particularly appealing to those students who want a class experience akin to courses taught in Ivey’s HBA program. Delivered through Ivey’s renowned case method, the course challenges students to learn by doing, within an active class environment of no more than 75 to 80 students. Many students believe this course provides an excellent foundation for Business 2257. Students explore real business issues, make management decisions, defend their position, and take action. Students are expected to learn about the problems managers face and gain an understanding of the environment in which managers make decisions. Above all, students will develop the capacity to make sound and timely decisions based on available, and often imperfect, information. Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades. Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards. Qualifications

Required Qualifications Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field by the course start date or a relevant Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience. Demonstrated subject-matter expertise, supported by relevant education and/or substantial professional experience. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to facilitate discussion-based and active learning (e.g., cases, experiential learning, simulations). Prior postsecondary teaching and/or professional training, coaching, facilitation, or curriculum/learning design experience, with evidence of effectiveness (e.g., teaching evaluations, sample syllabus/lesson plan, sample assessments, or training materials). Demonstrated ability to teach and work effectively with diverse learners; commitment to inclusive teaching practices and respectful classroom dialogue. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment; ability to apply institutional policies and maintain confidentiality. Ability to deliver the course as scheduled in the required modality (in-person/online/hybrid) and to meet instructional responsibilities (preparation, meeting with students as needed to provide support, timely grading and feedback, coordination with course leadership and academic administration). Preferred Qualifications PhD/DBA (or other terminal degree) in a relevant field. Relevant professional designation(s) and/or advanced credentials (where applicable). Significant (typically 7+ years) relevant professional and/or senior leadership experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, with demonstrated ability to connect course concepts to current practice through examples, projects, and practitioner networks. Demonstrated experience integrating responsible generative AI and/or educational technology into teaching/learning/assessment in line with institutional guidance. Affirmation Policy
