Position Overview:

We are seeking an Enterprise PCB Remediation Project Manager to join our Project Management Centre of Expertise Department. Under the general direction of the Enterprise Projects Section Head, responsible for the project management and administrative activities on assigned key strategic and complex projects, or portions of large complex projects, such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure or Enterprise PCB Remediation, as they apply to the overall planning, design, construction and commissioning activities. Will provide project management expertise to project participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of a project execution plan and all supporting project documentation.
  • Hiring, as required, to build the project management team. Direct activities and assignments and supervise the performance of Professional Engineers and other technical staff from across the enterprise, primarily in a matrix structure.
  • Identify project stakeholders and in collaboration create a RACI matrix to outline roles and responsibilities. Once established, ensure adherence to the agreed upon RACI.
  • Create investments and approval documents.
  • Monitor and control spending, scope and schedule for the Project.
  • Monitor project participants' accountability for initiating and/or adhering to the technical scope of the work, the project schedule and the approved budget.
  • Responsible for establishing a risk management plan and project contingency allowance based on risk impact assessment and manage funds accordingly.
  • Manage all project activities with other groups within Corporation and external consultants to ensure a shared common understanding of requirements of the project.
  • Report on project status throughout the various stages of the project, including issues arising from environmental, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Regularly liaise with section heads and managers throughout the corporation to communicate capital project priorities, ensure resource allocation to meet these priorities, and to maintain knowledge of long-term requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Four‑year degree plus eight years related experience in project management and administration, including three years of supervisory experience;
  • OR
  • Diploma plus ten years related experience in project management and administration, including three years of supervisory experience.
  • Plus: Three Project Management courses.
  • Courses in leadership and/or PMP designation would be considered an asset.
  • Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time), if applicable.
  • Working knowledge of Manitoba Hydro's operations as it relates to design, construction and commissioning activities and familiarity with fundamentals of all related engineering disciplines is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in planning, organizing and managing multiple activities within strict timelines.
  • Application of project management theory including good working knowledge of project management tools including Primavera, Excel, Copperleaf and SharePoint.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff throughout the enterprise.
  • An ability to work effectively with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability in the use of SAP to oversee capital budgets and schedules.
  • Demonstrated high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and ability to carry out assigned duties with a minimum of direction and supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of Corporate policies, procedures and regulations, including Corporate safety & environmental policies and the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and associated regulations
  • Possess and maintain a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $57.62-$78.94 Hourly, $110,417.06-$151,272.42 Annually.
