Our reputation is built on an uncompromising commitment to technical excellence, a highly selective team of experts, and a track record of delivering answers in the most complex, high-stakes environments. We operate at the intersection of deep technical expertise and real-world application, partnering with clients across energy, aerospace, consumer products, medical, and beyond. For our clients, that means a trusted partner known for rigor and results. For our people, it means joining an elite team tackling the most meaningful challenges in engineering.

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Engineering Mechanics and Design (EMD) business unit. As an active member of the EMD team, you will take on diverse hands-on projects involving component design/analysis, integrity assessment, failure analysis, repair solutions and remediation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects primarily in the energy industry, as well as projects in aerospace, consumer, defense, manufacturing, and utilities.

This is an onsite opportunity located in Calgary, AB CANADA.

Candidates must be able to provide the necessary documentation to verify identity & employment eligibility. Responsibilities include:

  • Review and perform API 579 Level 1, 2, and 3 fitness-for-service assessments.
  • Conduct stress analysis and mechanical design for pressure vessels, piping systems, mechanical components, and plant equipment.
  • Apply both computational and classical analysis methods, integrating findings with field instrumentation and strain gauge data.
  • Coordinate and conduct onsite field visits to investigate and resolve client-reported issues.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Engage with industry associations and technical code committees to contribute thought leadership and build credibility.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within industries such as Refining, Chemical, Pipeline, and Plant Equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing engineer with relevant plant engineering experience OR 10+ years of relevant plant engineering experience in lieu of a master’s degree.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards: API 510, 570, 579, 580, 653; NACE; ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes; and NDE methods.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (must be able to obtain a Canadian passport without restrictions).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with FEA software such as Abaqus or ANSYS.
  • Competency in performing fracture mechanics calculations.
  • Prior experience at a major oil company, refinery, chemical plant, or engineering consulting firm.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.
