The Town of Smithers is seeking a strategic and collaborative individual to oversee municipal infrastructure, asset management, and lead engineering staff. This is a full‑time, exempt position.

Surrounded by mountain ranges and beautiful lakes and rivers, Smithers is a northern gem. The town has a population of around 5,400 and is a service hub for the surrounding region comprised of approximately 15,000 people. Residents enjoy four seasons of recreational activities; including a ski hill within half an hour of town, world‑class?shing, backcountry and cross‑country skiing, hunting, gol?ng and alpine trails for hiking and horseback riding, along with a lively music scene, boutique shopping, an art gallery and museum, an aquatic centre, and numerous family-friendly activities.

About this opportunity
The Manager of Engineering plays a key role in shaping the infrastructure that supports the Town of Smithers. This position leads engineering sta? and collaborates with consultants, contractors, and community partners to deliver meaningful capital projects, steward municipal assets, and help build a resilient, sustainable future. We welcome candidates with a range of engineering, infrastructure, project management, or municipal experience who are excited to lead, collaborate, and grow with our organization.
This position offers a competitive salary of $91,890 - $102,100 (commensurate with experience).
