Our facility in Toronto, Canada incorporates our Head Office, Sales Office, Parts Procurement Team, as well as our new State-of-the-Art PCB Assembly line. In business since 2003, we are securing a strong brand name and reputation in low-to-mid volume Turn-key PCB assembly throughout the EMS industry.

Summary

Currently, we are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Procurement Manager with experience in electronics and PCB assembly procurement. This role is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of components, materials, and services required for PCB manufacturing and assembly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the electronics supply chain, vendor management, cost optimization, and lead-time control. Salary is based on experience, plus a performance-based incentive bonus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage procurement strategies that ensure the company has the materials and supplies necessary to meet customer demand. This includes working with suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Source and procure electronic components (ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors, etc.), PCBs, mechanical parts, and production materials based on BOMs and project needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers, including distributors.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and lead times to ensure cost-effectiveness and continuity of supply.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess stock.
  • Work closely with the engineering, production, and planning teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Identify alternative or second-source components to mitigate supply risk or long lead times.
  • Maintain and update systems to track and manage procurement processes and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain suppliers, including selection, qualification, monitor and evaluate performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness), supplier corrective actions and manage supplier audits when needed.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists and material planners to meet sourcing, cost, and delivery goals.
  • Assign procurement tasks, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project timelines and production needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's technical and negotiation skills.
  • Set KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), including cost saving target, lead time and quality target and evaluate team performance regularly.
  • Resolve escalated issues within the team related to supplier disputes, delays, or compliance concerns.
  • Manage and update SOPs, flowcharts in the department.
  • Perform Other tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, or PCB assembly environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, BOM analysis, and global supply chains.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficient in using Excel and procurement tools; strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking and decision-making under pressure.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, SMT processes, and JIT manufacturing principles.
  • Experience dealing with component shortages and lifecycle management.
  • Certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent is preferred.
