Job descriptionWork Instructions Mechanical Specialist Location: Saskatoon Employment Type: Contract (12 Month) Introduction Brunel is seeking a Specialist – Work Instructions - Mechanical to support maintenance readiness activities for the Jansen Surface & Underground area. This role will focus on developing preventive maintenance job plans and work instructions for industrial equipment, while helping ensure alignment between final design, maintainability, reliability requirements, and operational readiness objectives. Responsibilities - Develop strategy-based and non-strategy component replacement work instructions for a range of industrial equipment types. - Create preventive maintenance job plans and work instructions for the Jansen Surface & Underground area. - Maintain monthly schedule adherence and keep reporting platforms updated on a daily and weekly basis. - Collaborate with Maintenance Readiness stakeholders and workstreams, including equipment strategy, master data, and spares management. - Engage with project engineering teams and vendors to understand equipment maintainability requirements and Operations and Maintenance manual data availability. - Develop work instructions in line with OEM guidance and project requirements. - Support the transition-to-operations plan, including work instruction training, team readiness, role competency, tools, shops, and logistics readiness. - Complete other relevant tasks within the scope of work instruction development and overall Maintenance Readiness delivery. Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of operational industrial facility experience in maintenance execution, supervision, planning, or maintenance-related continuous improvement. - Experience developing job plans and work instructions. - Strong understanding and application of workplace safety standards. - Experience with CMMS master data development standards and rules. - Exposure to LEAN and work efficiency principles. - Proficiency with online collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, WebEx Teams, or similar tools. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint. - Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and build trust across stakeholder groups. - Adaptable to changing priorities and able to respond effectively to emerging issues. - Strong communication skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve potential conflicts. Preferred Experience - Experience with potash or mineral industry equipment types. - Exposure to equipment criticality assessments and related outcomes. - Experience contributing to design activities in greenfield or brownfield engineering projects. - Exposure to FMEA-based maintenance strategy development. - Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis methodologies. - Exposure to Management of Change principles. - Exposure to condition-based monitoring and precision maintenance tactics. - Experience with spares and materials management. - Experience with SAP or a comparable CMMS. - Exposure to Asset Performance Management systems.
