ABOUT THE POSITION


Reporting directly to the Manager, Communications, while working collaboratively within the marketing and communications teams at Swimming Canada, the Coordinator, Communications plays a key role in creating, coordinating and sharing compelling stories and content of Swimming Canada’s athletes, coaches and programs with our audiences. This role will be involved in working with diverse content across digital, social and traditional media platforms, while supporting all departments across the organization.



The ideal candidate is a strong writer with exceptional organization skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for sport. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset on your sport communications trading card.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


General Internal and External Communications



  • Write and distribute media releases, web stories, and media notes.

  • Create annual content calendars, for all web, social media stories, medial releases, and partner activations.

  • Prepare communications analytics and various reports.

  • Ensure regular updates to athlete bios.

  • Assist with writing and compiling media guides.

  • Create templates and graphics.

  • Create and manage media lists and lead daily, monthly and annual media monitoring reporting.

  • Assist with the digital content/asset management of Swimming Canada photo, video and information archives.

  • Creation of user friendly Swimming Canada photo archive.

  • Assist with internal newsletters/communications updates - group e-blasts.

  • Attend events to support media needs, and/or as media attaché as assigned.




Content Development and Digital Engagement





  • Plan and execute social media content calendars in collaboration with the team.

  • Lead social media planning, posting and monitoring/communication management.

  • Maintain content calendar for socials for all channels across the organization.

  • Develop story angles that promote athletes, coaches, programs and events.

  • Develop social media campaigns for department and corporate initiatives, aligned with Swimming Canada communications and social media strategies.

  • Monitor social media engagement and community conversations.

  • Edit photos and videos.

  • Analyze digital performance.

  • All other duties as required.



EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • A minimum of one year experience in a similar role.

  • Post-secondary education in journalism, or related program preferred.

  • Very strong writing, storytelling and editing skills intended for a variety of audiences and platforms.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to work on a large number of projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

  • A creative self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a part of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced and busy environment.

  • Experience editing photos and videos.

  • Experience working with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Lightroom would be a strong asset.

  • Strong verbal and writing skills in English is required, ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French would be considered an asset.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and/or overtime as needed to meet the business needs

  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.



WORK LOCATION


This position has the flexibility to work remotely within Canada, or at the Ottawa office. Occasional travel to attend meets, camps and national activities as required.



The Ottawa Office is located on the traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinabek People.



TOTAL REWARDS


The annual base salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and within a range of $47,500-52,000.

À PROPOS DU POSTE


Relevant directement de la gestionnaire, communications et travaillant en étroite collaboration avec les équipes de marketing et de communication de Natation Canada, le coordonnateur, communications joue un rôle essentiel dans la création, la coordination et le partage d'histoires et de contenus captivants concernant les athlètes, les entraineurs et les programmes de Natation Canada auprès de nos publics. Ce poste implique de travailler sur des contenus variés sur les plateformes numériques, les réseaux sociaux et les médias traditionnels, tout en apportant son soutien à l’ensemble des services de l’organisation.



Le candidat idéal est un excellent rédacteur doté d’un sens de l’organisation exceptionnel, qui s’épanouit dans un environnement dynamique et qui est passionné par le sport. Le bilinguisme (anglais et français) est considéré comme un atout majeur dans votre profil de professionnel de la communication sportive.



PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS


Communication générale interne et externe



  • Rédiger et diffuser des communiqués de presse, des articles pour le site web et des notes de presse.

  • Élaborer des calendriers de contenu annuels pour l’ensemble des publications du site web et des réseaux sociaux, des communiqués de presse et des activations des partenaires.

  • Préparer des analyses de communication et divers rapports.

  • Veiller à la mise à jour régulière des biographies des athlètes.

  • Participer à la rédaction et à la compilation des guides médias.

  • Créer des modèles et des graphiques.

  • Créer et gérer des listes de presse et assurer le suivi quotidien, mensuel et annuel de la couverture médiatique.

  • Participer à la gestion des contenus et ressources numériques des archives photographiques, vidéo et documentaires de Natation Canada.

  • Créer une archive photographique conviviale de Natation Canada.

  • Participer à la rédaction des infolettres et des communications internes – envois groupés par courriel

  • Participer aux évènements pour répondre aux besoins médiatiques ou comme attaché de presse, selon les besoins.



Développement de contenu et engagement numériques



  • Planifier et mettre en œuvre les calendriers de publication sur les réseaux sociaux en collaboration avec l’équipe.

  • Diriger la planification, la publication et le suivi des réseaux sociaux, ainsi que la gestion de la communication.

  • Tenir à jour le calendrier de publication sur les réseaux sociaux pour l’ensemble des canaux de l’organisation.

  • Développer des angles de reportage mettant en valeur les athlètes, les entraineurs, les programmes et les évènements.

  • Élaborer des campagnes sur les réseaux sociaux pour les initiatives des départements et de la société, en accord avec les stratégies de communication et de réseaux sociaux de Natation Canada.

  • Faire le suivi de l’engagement sur les réseaux sociaux et des conversations au sein de la communauté.

  • Retoucher des photos et des vidéos.

  • Analyser les performances numériques.

  • Autres tâches au besoin.



EXPÉRIENCE ET QUALIFICATIONS



  • Au moins un an d'expérience dans un poste similaire.

  • Études postsecondaires en journalisme ou dans un programme connexe, est un atout.

  • Excellentes compétences en rédaction, en narration et en révision, adaptées à divers publics et plateformes.

  • Souci du détail et sens aigu de l'organisation, avec la capacité de mener simultanément un grand nombre de projets tout en respectant des délais serrés.

  • Esprit créatif et proactif, capable de travailler de manière autonome ou au sein d’une équipe.

  • Solides compétences interpersonnelles.

  • Capacité à travailler dans un environnement dynamique et chargé.

  • Expérience en retouche photo et vidéo.

  • Une expérience de l’utilisation de Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator ou Lightroom constituerait un atout majeur.

  • De solides compétences orales et écrites en anglais sont requises ; la capacité à communiquer oralement et par écrit en français serait considérée comme un atout.

  • Capacité à s’adapter à des horaires de travail flexibles ou à effectuer des heures supplémentaires si nécessaire pour répondre aux besoins de la société.

  • Être actuellement légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada.

  • Capacité à voyager au niveau national et international.



LIEU DE TRAVAIL


Ce poste offre la possibilité de travailler à distance au Canada ou depuis le bureau d'Ottawa. Déplacements occasionnels pour participer à des compétitions, des camps et des activités nationales, selon les besoins.



Le bureau d'Ottawa est situé sur le territoire traditionnel du peuple algonquin Anishinabek.



COMPENSATIONS TOTALES


Le salaire annuel de base pour ce poste est proportionnel aux qualifications et à l'expérience, et se situe dans une fourchette de 47 500 à 52 000 $.



Ce poste est assorti d'un ensemble d'avantages pour les soins de santé et les soins dentaires, comme indiqué dans le manuel de l'employé.
